I've been to Beija Flor 3 times now and I love the place. Sharon has been very accommodating for us over the years with our growing family. The house is perfect for our family because its a perfect location being so close to Holetown, the highway isn't too far away, the beach is a short walk down the road, be careful of traffic but its one of my top 5 beaches in Barbados. If you don't mind a 20 minute walk in the sun then you can get to the super market, Limegrove centre and Holetown Chattel village. You could actually do this holiday without a car with the bus links and taxis, but Diana (the house manager) helped us sort an 8 seater car from Farleys car rentals, which was much more reasonable than other rentals we have had (around £600 for 2 weeks).
The kids were out in the pool every morning and have since learned to not fear full submersion, which was slightly daunting; but they had a fantastic holiday. We would go back anytime, but sadly our family may be getting too big now, but I'd recommend this house to anyone looking around Barbados for somewhere to stay.
The only negative thing I can say about my trip was that in the second week some building work started on the fields behind the estate and they added a road for trucks in the bushes a few metres from the pool area. Barbados doesn't have regulations about informing people of work or noise regulations. This doesn't reflect badly on this property and there is nothing that could have been done about it, it could have happened anywhere. We still carried on using the pool, sitting outside and traveling around the island.
If you go to Barbados, I highly recommend traveling around the island.
Flying Fish for lunch at Bathsheba, rum tasting at St Nicolas Abbey, swimming in the Animal Flower cave, Oistens fish fry (when its back to its lively nature) and a massive recommendation to Cool Runnings with their Sunset cruise. Go, and enjoy it all!
A big thank you again to Sharon, we had a great trip.
