Myself, my 9 year old daughter and Partner all stayed in 405 for the Easter Holidays. The Apartment was spacious for all of us, a lovely Balcony for eating breakfast, lunch and dinner, which we did a lot and made use of the well equipped kitchen. It was so lovely to see the Sunset and the boats sailing from the balcony in the evening with a Mount Gay Rum! You could see the Monkey's in the Mango Trees from our balcony every morning. The Pool and grounds are beautiful, spacious and relaxing. The walk to the beach, supermarket and bars takes 5 minutes. There is also a lovely Luxury shopping centre and Second Street, 10 mins walk away with Live Music. The Apartment has ample parking, and 24 hour security, the reception staff are always there to help too. We will definitely be going back, highly recommended!

Appartamento piccolo ma con tutto il necessario forse un po' decentrato. A 7/8 min a piedi dal centro. Situato in un condominio molto tranquillo e silenzioso. Bagno nuovo, tutto molto pulito ma l'odore di chiuso e vecchio ci ha un po' infastiditi da subito, infatti per fortuna la NON presenza di zanzare in tutta l'isola ci ha permesso di dormire tranquillamente con le finestre aperte e senza dover accendere l'aria condizionata in quanto molto arieggiato. Dotato anche di piscina condominiale,Wi-Fi nelle zone comuni,vigilante ogni notte.Altra nota un po' dolente è la presenza di un cimitero proprio a fianco ma non si nota più di tanto visto il modo in cui è costruito lo stabile. Ad ogni modo lo consiglierei a chi non ha pretese ma ama tranquillità e pulizia.

We have just stayed in apartment 422. Everything in place for a relaxing holiday. Lovely views from the balcony. Great to sit out and eat your meals or lie on the beds placed either end of the balcony. Wonderful swimming pool. Easy reach of shops and beach. We enjoyed walking over the golf course on Sandy Lane,early morning before the sun gets too hot. Would recommend a stay here and we will return.

Anyone of independent mind wanting to take a trip to Paradise should immediately call Doris and book one of her Golden View apartments. We stayed in apt 307 this year and had our best holiday yet. The apartment is beautifully furnished and is kept spotlessly clean by Doris's staff, Tina and Lorraine. The balcony - which gets the sun from early mid-morning and has extremely comfortable day-beds - is ideal for having a casual breakfast in the morning and an evening 'sun-downer' as dusk draws in and the bats begin flitting about. The Lounge is very well appointed with comfortable sofas and chair and there is satellite TV and a DVD player as well as a CD/radio sound system for the evenings in. It also has a a very convenient dining area near the kitchenette. I must admit we didn't do much cooking, even though the kitchenette has all mod-cons - microwave, toaster, an absolutely freezing fridge, etc. as, when we did eat in, it was usually a meal from the on-site restaurant. (One tip about the takeaway meals from the Chinese restaurant: they serve really big portions - absolutely delicious - but really big...) The bedroom has ample storage space with a very large wardrobe. The bed is so comfortable. There is an air-con unit (you get tokens from reception) but to be honest we didn't use it very often - the breeze through the apartment and the ceiling fans were usually enough to make sleeping comfortable. The roomy bathroom has a mixer shower (watch out, the hot water here is really HOT) a wash-basin with ample room for his and her toiletries and a wc. And, I must mention, some of the softest/largest towels I've ever used. The Golden View Condominiums are very well kept and the staff work extremely hard to keep the pool clean, the grounds neat and tidy, and the the whole complex spick-and-span. The reception staff are extremely helpful and everyone is so pleasant. And, of course, you are only a short walk away from the shops and eateries of Holetown, and the beautiful Caribbean sea. We hired a small Jeep and toured the island, using apt 307 as a base and this is why, at the start of the review, I said this was the ideal place for anyone of an independent mind. What I mean is, its not an all-inclusive hotel where you have to eat at set times, have waiters cater to you, have to get dressed-up for dinner and pay an absolute fortune for the privilege. Staying at the Golden View in apt 307 - or one of Doris's other apartments - it is as if you're in a real home-from-home. You have the freedom to do as much or as little as you wish. You set your own agenda. You can have a relaxing morning, brunch at the mall, then tour parts of the island in the afternoon - we did this regularly and really enjoyed it. Some nights we stayed in, others we stuck on the glad-rags and went out for a meal, usually to the Beach House. My wife and I have been to all-inclusives in Barbados as well as on other Caribbean islands and honestly, hand-on-heart, we have never, ever had better holidays than when we've stayed in one of Doris's apartments. Seriously, contact Doris and give the Golden View a try - you won't be disappointed. Stayed in apartment 405 for 2 weeks in January 2016. The apartment is very well equipped,clean, comfortable and in an ideal location. Being on the fourth floor the view from the balcony are wonderful.Supermarket,shops, beeches and excellentrestaurants are only a stroll away, so no need for a car unless you want to tour the island. We have stayed on Barbados many times in various accommodation and this rates as one of the best! Thanks Doris we hope to return.

When myself, my partner and 4 year old daughter booked our holiday to Barbados in April 2014 we were quite particular with our requirements! I really enjoy water-skiing (flat sea), my partner has to surf (waves) and most importantly we needed a safe apartment with a pool for my daughter…..all on our budget!! We stayed in 307 Golden View which was fantastic, ticked ALL the boxes, and surprisingly it was in a very exclusive area. Mrs Stephens had kindly booked us a taxi that would fit the surfboard and luggage we had brought from England – it was waiting for us at the airport which was much appreciated after our long journey with a 4 year old. The apartment was exactly what we wanted. There was a clean fully equipped compact kitchen, including cloths, washing up liquid, kitchen roll, etc. We made toast for breakfast, I could heat my daughters milk, make packed lunches for the beach, or cook an evening meal to save money. The bedroom was spacious, clean and comfortable with a fan and air-conditioning unit (which we did not use, as we wanted to experience the heat of the island and adapt). There was lots of storage space for all our clothes and suitcases. The double shower was great with my daughter and there were loads of fluffy towels provided. The lounge/dining room was large with a TV, DVD player and Hi/FI with a Steelpan CD! It was really handy that my daughter could watch cartoons while we were getting ready for the day, and if we really wanted we could watch a movie in the evening my daughter went to bed early! My daughter slept on the huge comfortable corner sofa, which we were more that happy with, we were offered a single fold-out bed if we wanted. The balcony was large with table and chairs so we could eat breakfast/dinner outside. There was also a rack to dry swim stuff. Our balcony overlooked the garden and had distant sea views but the highlight were definitely the monkeys that came into the gardens in the mornings especially for my daughter!! The garden and pool area were great for us all, very quiet, everyone was friendly and no-one minded my daughters cheering too much! She could play in the baby pool while we watched from our sun-loungers, also played hide and seek in the large, safe gardens. There is a Chinese restaurant by the pool which sells cheap Banks Beer and reasonable food too, convenient for eating in or taking away. We walked to the shops to buy groceries, it can be expensive but you can find alternatives or adapt meals….the locals have to! You could also buy a “white van meal” parked at the end of the road at lunch time, REALLY cheap for a huge Bajan take-away meal which you can eat on the beach, by the pool or save it for dinner in the apartment! We also walked to Surfside Beach easily, Zacchio’s was a lovely setting and reasonable, or we could catch a bus at the end of the road to Herron Bay or Mullins….or anywhere! We hired a small car for 10 days, really cheap on a comparison site. We were then able to pack up lunch, snacks, drinks for the day and surf on the East/South coasts. It was so easy to drive from Golden View there are maps in the Barbados Nutshell on reception or in the meeting room. Our car was dropped off to Golden View with a license and they collected the keys from reception when we had left. In the apartment Mrs Stephens had typed an up-to-date information book about the condominiums, transport, restaurants, trips, how to work the equipment, who to call etc. We booked our trip on Catamaran to swim with turtles from this book and it was the best day we had!! The restaurant guide was also accurate and we even found one of the Rum Shacks!! We were not disappointed and would definitely go again, only this time my partner would take his golf clubs too as there is golf just around the corner….I would go to a Polo match….and my daughter will be old enough to jet-ski or learn water-skiing with me!!!!

We stayed at Golden view on the top floor for a month in a very nice apartment,. The views are better and it is quieter . Golden view owners and renters fall into two main owners Canadian and British . Apartments are very similar in size but vary considerably in quality of fitments. The main plus points for staying here are high level of security with 24 hour reception . Very nice peaceful well maintained large gardens, giving shade when required. Super large pool with lots of sun loungers, plus fixed tables with chairs and large umbrellas if you need shade from the sun. Many owners and guests stay for months over the winter time and organise different events and nights out . The people are very friendly and its easy to make friends. Our final two weeks were on the second floor , where we were greatly assisted by the apartments agent Tina who excelled in finding this apartment for us and had a plumbing problem fixed . Top marks for a very professional business lady . We will review her company in more detail later. Barbados is a beautiful island , it has many lovely beaches, interesting places to visit, good restaurants, bars and shops. Fine dining, horse racing, excellent fishing and lots of sunshine, what more could you ask for ? Its a brilliant place for holidays.

My husband and I booked to stay in room 307 for two weeks over Christmas and New Year. From the second we arrived, our hosts Doris and Peter made us feel unbelievably welcome, even providing us with milk on arrival so we could have a cuppa the next day (it was fairly late when we arrived). #307 was bright, spotlessly clean, fully equipped and extremely comfortable. Doris and Peter had left us a very handy 'guide book', full of tips and suggestions for a great stay. The views were AMAZING from the third floor....the impeccable gardens and pool deck, cruise ships twinkling and bat watching at dusk. The place was just heaven, so peaceful and chilled - no rush for beds (more than enough). There is a lovely cooling breeze that flows through the whole building, and falling asleep to the sound of the tree frogs and crickets was magical. We regularly enjoyed early evening Banks - the local beer - at happy hour in the Chinese restaurant on the grounds (Good Choice restaurant and take away - really good value, and very generous portions). The pool opens at 6am and closes at 10pm, and was cleaned each morning at around 7am. To say we enjoyed our stay is a massive understatement. In fact, when our two weeks had flown by and it was time to check out, we rang the airline, put our flights back a week and booked to stay in another apartment in the complex (the lovely Doris arranged this for us!) We have had many marvellous holidays in the past, but none have made us change our travel plans and simply refuse to go home (running the risk of losing our jobs!!) If you are considering booking one of Doris and Peters apartments in this condominium block, then I would say 'Do Not Hesitate'. They are close to all amenities, beach, banks, bus stops, restaurants and the fabulous Surfside for all the football matches. We stayed at apt 107, ground floor, booked independently with the UK owner. Each apartment will be the same size and layout but facilities/decor will vary from apartment to apartment I guess. So please take from this review what is relevant but bear in mind anything that is apartment specific. No charge for aircon in our apartment for example so you will need to check on each owners website to ascertain what is there and what isn't. !07 is pleasantly furnished and had everything that we needed for a 17 day stay, the bonus of being on the ground floor was that we could just wander out from out patio into the garden and the pool which was great for a swim before breakfast. The gardens were very well maintained with, on some days three or four guys working on site. plenty of sunbeds round the pool also plenty of seats and tables with shade in the garden. Plenty of birds (feathered) in the garden and a troupe of monkeys visited most mornings around 7.30 am -8.30am The block doesn't look that pretty as you arrive, the reason is the cemetery right next door (which you are just simply not aware of during your stay) and the side of the building facing it doesn't have any windows for obvious reasons. The business side of the apartment complex is all on the other side of the building and you simply park your car and enter the building on the cemetery side and there is a huge wall 4-5 metres high to maintain privacy. I mention all this because I was originally put off the location because of the cemetery but really it is not a problem. (when people asked where we were staying I always said "Next to the dead centre of Holetown" how we laughed, or not...) You can walk to the bars and restaurants but quite frankly we drove everywhere, there are no drink drive laws in Barbados so you can have a tipple more than you do at home and drive (I am not advocating getting blind drunk and then driving but there is a happy medium that each individual must decide upon) Chinese restaurant on site which is good value for money and the portions are generous, go and try is my advice. Security is good at Golden view with reception manned 24/7, grounds and parking well lit at night, gardens have high fences, no strangers are allowed in. Communal areas and pool are kept spotless, the building is not new but well maintained. wifi in reception and a laundromat on the 3rd floor Can't think of much else other than I would definitely book this complex again. I have scored it 5 star as an overall view including value for money, location, grounds etc this is not Sandy Lane but good budget accommodation.
