This is one restaurant in all of the Greenville area that I consider my home-away-from-home, eating there about twice a month. The owners, Karl and Annette, are so friendly, so nice, they are like family. They always try to come out (one is usually in the kitchen) and say hello and chat. I love going in the middle of the week when they might have the time to sit with me and talk over a good German beer or glass of wine.
The food is always fantastic. I've never had anything here that didn't taste freshly prepared and cooked. I've eaten my way through their entire menu and I can honestly say, "It is ALL good!” Karl sometimes likes to make a specialty soup, and Annette will bake an off-menu extra-special dessert. You really don't want to miss either. One simple thing sold me on this restaurant on my first visit: their salad. I missed what I used to get in Germany and thought I would never have that "taste" again. Well, here it is in Greenville! The dressing and ingredients are exactly what my mouth remembered. There have been a few times when I've gone in, and just asked them to bring me anything. THAT is how good their entire menu is. I can take my time and never feel hurried. Karl and Annette always come out to say hello and chat. From a guy who lives for good food - this is a restaurant that I live for.
