I stayed at Twin Palms for 8 days with my fiance, and it was a very nice vacation.
We were greeted with Jasmine bracelets and a welcome drink which was great after a long trip, and the staff were very friendly. Check In procedures were short and sweet which was exactly what we needed as we just wanted to shower and rest.
The rooms (2 nights Grand Deluxe Palm Room, 6 nights Grand Deluxe Lagoon Room) are spacious, very clean and nicely furnished. I also liked the amenities a lot - really good quality products, not cheap stuff like in some other hotels.
Both rooms were the same but Palm room is on 1st floor while the Lagoon room has access to the pool from the terace. In hindsight, we really didn't use that access more than two times in the evenings. Although it was nice to have, I probably wouldn't pay the extra for pool access again especially as the lagoon is not private at all.
Housekeeping was quite efficient in getting the room clean once we left in the morning, and they always did a good job.
Breakfast - probably the only disappointment if any; there just wasn't a lot of choice.
However, the fresh juices and fruit were fantastic so we had the 'healthy option' most mornings given cheese (3 types at any given time) and cold cuts (none) were not that great.
The Pool area is really nice, but we preferred the beach and walked down to the hotel's own Catch Beach Club every morning. It is a 5 min walk, and really not an issue at all unless you have small children or difficulties walking.
Always got extra towels from the friendly staff, and space was never an issue. Even the very comfortable daybeds were usually available until mid day.
Service at Catch was not great - nobody came proactively to take drink orders. But a nice gesture was that the staff sometimes walked around offering complimentary watermelon.
We also liked the 2 for 1 drinks offer for sundowners.
Staff at the library were very friendly and helpful, and we booked a number of excursions with the hotel. A highlight was the limousine rental for a day - the driver was very friendly and helpful, and the small additional cost compared to a rental car was nothing when looking at the extra comfort he provided.
We never ate at the hotel in the evenings; the restaurant and bar there just seemed quite dead as people went out to other places. The Pool bar also closes at 6 pm sharp, which is a pity.
The spa was okay ,but not impressive. I booked a 4 hr package starting with a 30 min steam batch, which happened to be in a shower like room with a small stool. That wasn't enjoyable at all given stool and walls were cold, and I didn't find the prospect of standing for 30 minutes very relaxing so I cut the steam bath short.
Massage and body scrub were okay but the treatment room was fairly cold, there was no music and normal daylight. It might just be me but I prefer a dimly lit room, some candles and relaxing music. Still, quality of products used and techniques applied were definitely okay.
Overall, we really enjoyed our time there and also liked the fact that the hotel is small. The other guests were very pleasant and classy, and there were no disturbances or unpleasant experiences at all.
I would recommend the hotel for couples or friends wanting to relax and enjoy a good time.
