This summer, I intend to visit the east of Venezuela for about two weeks with a friend of mine, coming from Colombia. The idea is to enter Venezuela at the frontier in Paraguachon and leave at the San Antonio/Cucuta border back into Colombia.
I have done the San Antonio/Cucuta crossing back in 2014. I was quite well prepared and informed before approaching the border as people have warned me of doing it.
As the situation in this area changes fast, I wanted to ask here, if anyone has a more recent experience, especially of the Paraguachon crossing and could provide some information about it, as I do not want to go there unprepared.
Another question: last time I went to Venezuela, I mostly changed money on the black market. but I wasn't so sure about the exchange rate from $ to Bolivianos. The rates I got seemed to be different everytime I changed so I assume I got ripped of. I learned that there is a twitter page that provides pretty accurate data. Does anyone has access to it or knows another measure of getting such information?
