We are coming to Banff on Oktober 3rd and stay for one night. After that, we are planning to walk up till Bow Lake. And we have so many questions :-)
We would like to pass on our journey
> Moraine Lake (Banff to Moraine Lake with a Shuttle? Or should we walk from Banff to the lake? Or directly to Lake Louise and walk back to Moraine Lake? Is Johnston Canyon worth the visit?)
> Lake Louise
> Plain of six Glaciers
> Emerald Lake
> Peyto Lake
Here come the questions:
We thought about walking for 5 to 6 days. Do you think that is realistic? We are quite used to track for more than one day and it is not the first time for us to go on overnight hikes with several mountain peaks. I also think our equipment (shoes, cloths, backpacks and so on) fits the conditions.
We would like to sleep in Hostelling International Hostels and other cheap (unfortunately we are on a budget) accomodations. Where do you think should we plan our night stops?
We have already been planning and reading about the trails for three weeks now and also bought several travel guides about the national Parks but it is really hard to find Informations about overnight hikes from Banff in the north. So we desperately need your help! :)
We go by train from Jasper to Vancouver on Oktober the 13th, so we would have some time left. Also is the question if there is a possibility to go from Bow Lake to Jasper by public Transport? We read that there is a opportunity to go to Edkonton but that it takes really a long time. Is there something like another possibility or maybe we can rent a car at Bow Lake and return it in Jasper? Otherwise we would have to take the Sunrise Shuttle.
We are really sorry for all the questions and really looking forward for your highly appreciated reply!
