I am truly sorry you did not like your room. I only wish you would have asked for another. Unlike most hotels in the area we have many different shapes and sizes of rooms which allows us the flexibility to meet the desires of almost all of our customers. In addition, our staff is very helpful and flexible (see Trip Advisor reviews). They would be more then willing to work with you to ensure you were happy. In response, to your comment that the carpets could be "potentially dirty" I feel very comfortable in saying that is most likely not the case. Our carpets are vacuumed anytime anyone uses a room which based on our occupancy levels is approx. 5 times a week, they are professionally cleaned a minimum of two (2) times a year BUT also as needed if a situation warrants it (I would guess most people do not clean their carpets at home as much as we clean ours). You are right in saying the A/C was off when you arrived on a muggy day. I suspect the heat and humidity outside led to the muggy or musty feeling when you first entered the room. I feel reasonably comfortable in saying the incredible A/C units we have quickly cooled the room, reduced the humidity and eliminated the musty feeling. Did it? As a property, we try to do a little something to protect the environment and not waste energy so leaving A/C units on non stop when no one was checked into the room did not seem to be the right thing to do. You mentioned the nice reviews and the good STAR rating in your first sentence and I ask you to remember that the next time you visit our area. We are the number one ranked full service hotel in the entire county, have had the highest STAR rating in the area for over two years and since April of 2010 eighty-six (86) % of our guests that have stayed with us and posted comments on Trip Advisor have ranked us Excellent or Very Good only 4% ranked us as low as you did. All those guests can't be mistaken. What did they see or feel that you didn't? Cant quarantee anything but we have not had a problem in last 8 years. Parking is reserved for registered guests and patrons of our 2 restaurants.

Question for the GM Scott McArthur, do you really think your pathetically condescending responses to any/all postings or reviews of bad experiences at the hotel have any chance in bringing business back or even attracting new guests? Although I'm sure you're already chomping at the bit to write one of what you would consider as a one-up, take that sort of response, but for your advice from a person who was seeking a hotel, consider this - Your responses to the negative reviews are what fuel mine and many other guests' decisions on whether to book with you or not. I've not stayed in Morristown before, but I will be in December. I will be booking at another hotel ONLY because of your smart mouth to people who are attempting to offer feedback for improvement for the hotel, not YOUR personal business. The sharp tongued feedback you're posting turns it into some sort of online D measuring where you're very unprofessional and hiding behind other positive instead of trying to become even better by learning from the bad ones. For me, you're either very green in the industry and haven't yet mastered the whole 'learn from it and get better' or you're well too seasoned and no longer care to put the work in to be better. Again, I don't care which one it is because I'm going to stay somewhere else to be certain I dont have to find out. Good luck to your staff and your future. Let's HOPE nobody else thinks like I do and that all of the good reviews continue to outweigh the bad ones. The public shaming of bad experience reviews seems to be working so far.
I can only go by my experience with the hotel. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating to our needs. We had one group that was there for no more than a couple of hours and a family tragedy occurred and they had to leave. They had at least two rooms and the hotel did not charge them at all. We had another person who had fainted and was sent to the emergency room at the hospital. Again the hotel did a great job handling this. my son's wedding that was there went off fantastic. The wedding and reception was both there and they did a great job. I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience.
