Dear LordHiden, Thank you so much for your detailed and very positive review of our property. And thank you for clearly recommending it for one or more nights. We are so pleased that you found our cabins to be simple, comfortable and almost luxurious in the middle of the forest, and that you enjoyed the included food, and the exciting hiking experiences available close by. We are sorry that you found the lodge to be expensive - we believe we offer true value for money in that each night we offer a complimentary Wine & Cheese reception for our guests, dinner & breakfast buffets (lunch, including a packed trail lunch, for those staying additional nights), s'mores by the campfire, and 24-hour non-alcoholic drinks and snacks for our guests. Additionally, we offer many amenities in our wilderness location not available in other lodges in the parks (an outdoor hot tub, seasonal swimming pool, a private lake, trampoline, tennis courts, basketball & volleyball courts, children's seasonal playground, foosball & ping pong tables, a guest library and numerous board games for guests to use during their stay. Since we are in a wilderness location, and open year-round, we work in a challenging environment that is very costly to maintain and operate in, which includes most of our staff living onsite due to our remote location. So, yes, if you compare our lodge pricing (which includes meals and activities) to just the room rate at other lodges, especially outside of the parks, we may appear more expensive, until you add in the costs of meals, snacks, drinks, activities and location. It is also true that we do not offer daily maid service, as you noted in your review. This is because we are in an environmentally-sensitive area and know that it is best to use less water and cleaning supplies for each guest's stay to minimize environmental impacts. Each guest's room is thoroughly cleaned prior to arrival. Clean towels and fresh shampoos/toiletries/coffee packets, etc. are provided to each room every other day for those guests who stay more than one or two nights. We believe that since most people don't have daily maid service at home, it makes perfect sense that guests will be comfortable not having daily maid service while traveling, and we can focus by providing other amenities that we believe are more enhancing to our guest experience (such as meals, activities, wine & cheese receptions, books, board games, etc.). Of course, our guests are welcome to request a cleaning by going to the front desk, especially if their room needs attention. Guests can also request additional towels, toiletries, coffee packets, etc., by going to the front desk and they will be happy to help you. We realize our business model is different than is typical in the U.S., but we are very proud of our unique offerings and feel it offers guests more for their money in terms of enjoyment than daily maid service. Thank you again LordHiden for your very warm review. We appreciate your time and effort to communicate your experience and know it will be very helpful to future guests! We hope we were able to explain our unique business model a little bit so our International guests know what to expect if they choose to stay with us. We wish you wonderful future travels and hope you return again one day! Warm regards, T. Dally Owner Family Member

Hi Monica, In general the pool is open sometime in May depending on weather conditions (May weather is generally beautiful, but we are occasionally surprised by a late season storm). The pool is heated. Our outdoor hot tub is open year-round for our guests. We also have a private lake with kayaks, paddle boats, Stand Up Paddleboards and canoes available for use by our lodging guests - which is complimentary. Hope that helps! Sincerely, Montecito Sequoia Lodge & Summer Family Camp

Is there any laundry room that can be idee with coins?
Hi marinadon, We do not offer a coin-operated laundry. If you are staying with us, you can ask our front desk if the housekeeping staff can do your laundry for a small additional fee . Otherwise, you can go to Stony Creek Lodge (4 miles south of Montecito) that has several coin-operated washers to do your own laundry. Hope that helps! Best, Montecito

Are there any vegan options for dining there?
Hello, We offer vegetarian options with each meal and ask vegan guests to stop by the kitchen upon check-in to speak with our cooks about how to accommodate them (if we are not already serving a vegan entree on the main buffet line). Hope that helps! Best, Montecito

Do they offer pack n plays (infant cribs)?
Hi Jessica W., We do have a number of pack n plays available for our guests. You can note your request in the special requests section of your reservation, but I also recommend calling the front desk before your arrival to request one. You can call 1-800-227-9900 and press "1" when prompted to make your request. Hope that helps! Best, Montecito
