Lovely area to stroll around. Also recommend going on one of the guided walking tours - more to it than meets the eye. Love having the canal also.

Wonderful restoration is almost complete to improve the parkland. Over £3M in Lottery funds have been spent to restore the water gardens, 'winderness' area and entrance. The water gardens have been opened up, allowing light into the pools. Great care has been taken to restore the pools by skilled stone masons using local limestone. In the wilderness are are some wonderful old including an ancient lime. Rather than create a separate playground, instead sculptures have been installed that children are encouraged to play on and climb.
The site is owned and very well managed by the Milton Keynes Parks Trust. They have recently added informative display boards that share with visitors insights about the history or the area. Would also very much recommend the free guided walks that run twice a month - our guide was very engaging and informative. Allow a couple of hours to fully explore the park. It is also a good starting point to do a longer walk along the canal.
Note - if you visit on a Thursday, Friday or Sunday there are no toilets or cafe facilities. The Arts Centre and Church are both closed. The nearest facilities are the Black Horse pub at Great Linford next to the canal or the Costa in Great Linford shopping Centre.

We had a couple of strolls around the park area, along the canal & around the lakes, including the lower lake the other side of the canal.
Very impressed with the improvements since our last visit.
We loved the Wooden Sheep, & the Cascade Pond below the canal, which seems very strange looking up at the canal boats above.
This place is more & more becoming a place to visit & enjoy nature.
Looking forward to seeing the on going improvements the next time we visit.

The extensive redevelopment and refurbishment works seem to have been going on for ages and still not finished. Many of the improvements are in place, including the fabulous wooden sheep sculptures to compliment the concrete cows located elsewhere in MK. Contrary to what one reviewer at least says, the two ponds in front of the Alms houses have always been there and have been very extensively rebuilt. Some of the new pathway walks have been put in none too carefully and earth and plants etc are already spilling over on to them - very rustic! Can't wait for it to be finished.

Great linford park is a beautiful place. A must to visit in Milton Keynes. The park is look after the park trust. Enjoy a picnic.

Work proceeding to form 2 small 'Lakes' in front of the house, which will make the walk through the grounds extra pleasant.
A lovely area to walk through, or along the canal or to sit on 1 of the many seats & watch the world go by.

Area in Great Linford village with greenery, next to canal side and good for a stroll. Events are held during the summer. The climbing rocks are fun for kids and adults!

Love this park in Great Winford Village and on the canal. Lovely grounds with manor house, church and a number of arms houses that are used for arts and crafts. Nags Head pub next door!!

This is one of my favourite walks around MK, using the canal to guide you along. The festivals and other events that are held here are also worth looking out for.

One of my favorite places to walk in Milton Keynes along the canal and next to historical buildings. In every season there are different things to see.
