Had an amazing time painting pottery. So relaxing, we didn't realise there was such artists in us! Lots of help from the lovely owners with techniques, designs and colours - very happy with my bespoke mug.

My husband and I went as part of our honeymoon and really enjoyed ourselves! We made memorable pieces. We both got very caught up in it and the owners were absolutely lovely about letting us stay past our time (they were not very busy when we were in). Highly recommend!

Visiting Bala, took our youngest to Capel Clay at the western end of the highstreet - lots of parking nearby.
Same happy friendly service as always.
Whilst my daughter finished her mug relatively quickly, the owners were happy for me to finish off back at our accommodation and drop the elephant, paint brushes and paint back to them a couple of days later - thank you.
We picked up the fired pottery during our next visit a month later and they are happy to hold the pieces for you - though they can also post out.
Great service, good selection of slipcast pottery pieces and they like you to experiment with different techniques.
Highly recommended.

Lovely afternoon painting with the kids. Lots of pieces to choose from - we had a mug, an elephant and a spaniel. Friendly owners. Recommended.

What a fantastic place for young and old. My friend and I spent almost three hours here painting the pieces that we had chosen, and we were concentrating so much that we didn't speak to each other. There is a pay and display car park two minutes walk away. The owners are so welcoming. Everything is explained perfectly how your experience will work. There is a great selection of pieces to paint from small to large pieces. On the wall is painted tiles showing the different depths of colours that you can paint on your piece. There is a great selection of paint colours to use, and some paints with glitter in them. On your table that has plenty of space to paint without being knocked into if someone is sat near you. Your party has their own table area. There's plenty of paint brushes with different sized bristles for your painting. There is a bowl of water on the table to wash you brushes and paper towels. The paint washes out of your clothes if you accidentally get some paint on your clothes. If you need inspiration or guidance the owners are on hand to help and are very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They do a postal service if you can't collect your piece after it's been in the kiln. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back in May

Lovely morning, would thoroughly recommend…..ideal wet weather activity, really helpful owners, cannot wait to see our final pieces ( they helpfully post out to those visiting the area)

Relaxed atmosphere and fun afternoon. Family that run it were friendly and lovely. Even got a keep sake at the end of it for memories

Popped in here on our last day of holiday. It so relaxing you don't realise how long you've been in there. Although they are two hour sessions, they wouldn't kick you out unless they were booked out, but even then you could return to finish it.
We spent a few hours here, we really appreciated how helpful the couple who own it were, offering hints and tips and advice on how to get what we wanted, even when one of us messed up and started the item over in a different paint.
It's a really nice way to spend a few hours and come away with a lovely souvenir of your holiday.

Having used their 'takeaway', use at home kits during Covid times, it was nice to finally get to paint with the family in the Bala Studio - easy to find at the end of the high street.
Helpful friendly couple who run the studio. Lots of useful advise and suggestions to make the best of out pottery works of "art"!
Great family fun.
A little on the pricey side compared to other studios, but the facilities provided are excellent, with a good range of ceramics including Halloween and Christmas themed. The range of paints and special effects are second to none.
So overall, an excellent family afternoon out. Finished fired works were available to collect just 5 days later (but they do post / hold them for you).

Visited for the day to meet up with friends staying in the area. What a fabulous way to spend a few hours. It doesn’t matter how artistic you are, Seth is always on hand to offer ideas so that you produce pieces to be proud of. Can’t wait to visit again in October
