We were unable to view inside as every time we went it was always locked. Such a disappointment as it looked so pretty from the outside.

I went with a friend who is interested in old churches she loved it we visited as the lady organist /pianist was practicing for a service the following day. It was a joy to listen to. She also played Gospel music on a grand piano which was a beautiful surprise a very talented lady

There are many delightful things to see in this old town, far more than you would think. St Bartholomew's Church is one of them. The vicar encourages its use by the community, so you may find performances happening in addition to services. It is a very historic and beautiful building.

We were staying in Lostwithiel for a short break. Wherever possible we try to visit a Parish Church when on holiday because you can learn so much about the history of a locality from its early and continuing inks to the church and this was no exception.
when we visited on the morning we were due to leave, we discovered that the church was closed on that day. However while we were reading the notice on the door of what I assumed was the Vestry, a gentleman was on his way out and asked us where we were from. We said we were from South Wales. He disappeared and came back and invited us in! We were a little humbled by his kindness, as he was obviously on his way out but he led us through into the church and explained that it was closed in preparation for services later in the day. But not only did he let us in, he couldn't find the English version history so didn't hesitate to stay and explain the history, its occupation as a stable during the civil war, its place in the parish and referenced the history and background behind many of the stained glass windows.
This beautiful 12th Century Church, reputedly one of the earliest in the region is an absolute must and worth going out of your way to visit.

We visited this beautiful church during our stay in July. The church is very old and extremely beautiful. It’s in the centre of Lostwithiel town and it’s a beautiful centrepiece of architecture and history. We spent some time walking around the churchyard as well as looking inside and spent some time in prayer and contemplation. Well worth an hour exploring. If you are visiting Lostwithiel I would recommend time here, at the free museum across the road, then a walk down to the river where there are picnic tables available and the river is safe for paddling and swimming. There are also a couple of great pubs and cafes for eating out.

We stopped in Lostwithiel for no particular reason but found it a lovely place to spend an afternoon. This church is a must see because it dominates the town centre and was built in the 12th Century. The architecture is fascinating and well really how often does one have a chance to see something this old still in use?

If you are visiting the old country town of Lostwithiel & like to view old churches, then make your way to this beautiful church. It was built in the 12th century & has a magnificent east window which is the largest in any parish church in Cornwall. As well as this it has a 13th century font & many other interesting ancient artifacts within its walls, well worth a visit.

Take the time to stop and have a look. Like many villages in the UK there is stunning church architecture everywhere. Some disappoint. If you are aware of your Spirituality you will find this very intriguing.

We enjoyed a lovely Harvest Service in St Bartholomew's when we were on holiday in Cornwall. This is definitely a church where you will be made very welcome by the rector and a warm and friendly congregation. The church was beautifully decorated for the Harvest.W e came away feeling blessed to have been there. R and L Quin.

Only visited the graveyard. Some interesting gravestones.
