One of the most beautiful Churches
Aug. 2019
I relatively quick visit ( 30 mins or so) as this church has fascinated me since I first read about it -- and I wasn't disappointed! I came to see the memorial and grave of Margaret Blagg, wife of Sydney Godolphin. , but there was so much else to see as well ( hence me going back in a few weeks). The church is astonishingly well kept and beautiful, the wall paintings are worth the trip alone. But the thing that impressed and gratified me the most? -- well, it was the welcome from ( who I believe was the vicar) and a lady readying the Church for a wedding. Nothing was too much trouble, very pleasant indeed, an absolute treasure trove of information I felt most at home and I would think the congregation is most fortunate.
I had the pleasure of meeting the previous Vicar some years ago and he too was so friendly, amusing and welcoming, I was so saddened to hear of his passing.
Perhaps you would have thought that this welcome would be common when visiting a church, sadly my experiences tell me that it isn't. Cherish what you have people of Breage and thank you

So many graves with my family name (Symons). Why did they leave for NZ and Australia?
Aug. 2019
This Cornish church was a personal must do. It is beautiful church that generations of my family had frequented before they came to NZ and Australia in the 1940s. I wish that I knew more about them and which graves were my direct ancestors. Inside the church I gazed at the frescoes and the helmets that generations before had seen. What a perfect church.

Delightful Church
Apr. 2017 • Freunde
This is a beautiful country church which has the added attraction of stunning medieval wall paintings. These make it very much worth a detour from the main Helston to Penzance road, if you are interested in history.

Unfortunately due to restoration we were not able to view inside this lovely church. There was a sign on the door which gave the wardens phone number and stated that if he was home he would gladly open the door and show us around the church. Unfortunately he was not at home at that time. We enjoyed walking around the perimeter of the church and the 3 separate grave yards. We will call again in September after the restoration work is complete.

Interesting wall paintings
Sep. 2016 • Allein/Single
I living in Breage for nine years of my life. I used to visit this church quite a lot to look at the wall paintings. The wall paintings are incredible and it's hard to think how they could have done it so well so many years ago. The church is also full of other curious things. Definetly worth a visit is usually open in daylight hours.

St Breaca
Sep. 2016 • Freunde
St Breaca Church is situated in the centre of the ancient Cornish mining village of Breage in Cornwall. In the 1700's and 1800's it was the worship place for the mighty Godolphin family. They were very generous to the entire community and rebuilt St Michaels Church at nearby Helston after a lightening strike. They also gave the now ancient Communion Silver, which is now in Bank deposit. The jewel in St Breaca's crown is the collection of very ancient Frescos on the north wall. It also has a lovely sundial over the entrance door.

This is a very historic church, with lots of architectur of interest.
Sep. 2016 • Familie
I visit regularly, often to the cemetery to place flowers, but a trip inside the cool walls of the church is always welcome in the summer. The church has lots of family memories - weddings, christenings, confirmation, and funerals - so for me it holds a significant place. I would recommend picking up any of the leaflets available on the church history, so that when walking around, a true sense of its his can be understood

An interesting place
Aug. 2015 • Allein/Single
I had past this church hundreds of times and never thought to stop and look inside. From the outside it appears a normal church much like those found in almost every village across the UK. Inside is a wealth of history, detailing the Windows, paintings and bell tower. Well worth a look if you are passing.
