For $12, you can play one or both 18-hole courses ("Mountains" and "Range"), and you could play them as often as you wanted, because on neither course does the 18th hole "keep" your ball. The Mountain course has a few more hills or stairs to climb but nothing too difficult for the average adult or child mini golf player. The Range course was a little flatter, perhaps more shady (except at noon).
But the courses weren't well maintained. Hole 12 on the Range course, a two-level hole, had a sign posted not to play it. Presumably there was a problem in the chute somewhere between the upper and lower levels. The "greens" often had ripped or buckling carpet, gaps in the edges around the green - or open walking spaces - where a ball can easily go off course. There were twigs and chunks of mulch on many holes.
The grounds are pretty, but there's not much of a "Frontier" theme to it.
Many of the holes on the Mountain course were banked so that each of our group's shots ended up touching the side wall and often stopped in exactly the same spot. A little annoying for adults, but I don't think it would be much fun for children. I saw families playing, but neither course had anything special, cute, or clever that would appeal to kids; and the obstacles were kind of repetitive. The first hole on the Mountain side had a spinner, which you could use for an extra challenge, such as "hold the putter with just one hand," or "Choose an opponent to stand on the course in a spot of their choice as another obstacle." That was the only hole to have anything unusual.
Though it's part of Shawnee Resort, anyone can play there. You pay and get your clubs in the recreation building of the resort in the mini golf gift shop. This is a Wyndham resort, and while we didn't stay there, I was underwhelmed by what I saw. The men's room, I was told by my spouse, was a little untidy. The men's room out at the start of the course had an overflowing toilet that another player reported.
We probably won't return. The courses' landscaping was attractive, but the holes were well-worn and the course seems too repetitive and a little difficult and boring for young families.

Located on the Wyndham Shawnee Resort, the Frontier Falls Mini-Golf Center has two 18-hole mini-golf courses, and you can play one, both, or play them twice, or whatever you want for one price (We were not guests of the resort, so we paid ten dollars per person). Who does that? These are decent courses, too! Fairly well-maintained, the right-side course was straightforward without too much crazy stuff going on. The left-side course had more sweeping curves, multiple levels, and bumps and obstacles. Both were a lot of fun, and the course is nicely landscaped. Check-in was a little strange, as we had to be buzzed into the little mini-golf shop (one family at a time for COVID stuff), but apart from that, easy and fun. Some of the holes had torn turf here or there, but it wasn't bad.
