I've attended a number of workshops at Vitreus Art. You always get a warm welcome from Mike and Jenny and expert training. I find each workshop easy to follow and I have always been delighted with the end result. I started as a complete novice. There are a selection of workshops now in addition to the glass courses. I've also tried some of these and they are the same high standard I have come to expect. The shop has a beautiful display of unique items to purchase, from lots of artists so if you are looking for something different or a special gift I would recommend a visit.

Had a fantastic day making a strained glass leaded pain. Wonderful studio, expert advice and great hospitality. One of the best Christmas presents I’ve ever had

I was booked into a beginners stained glass window workshop with Vitreous Art as a Christmas present. It was a fabulous day. The tuition from Mike was excellent and, with just 4 people in the class, there was lots of one-to-one help. Jenny looked after us all day with tea and biscuits and lunch from the Bell Plantation café. I was delighted with my finish glass panel. I enjoyed it so much I've booked again.

Vitreous Art is my 'happy place'. I have attended several glass courses over the last few years which were so enjoyable - small class numbers and fun tuition from enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutors, and an interesting range of projects to make. I have now progressed to making my own designs. No matter how wild my ideas might be, Jenny and Mike are always so supportive and willing to offer helpful advice to make sure my project comes out well. Their studio is welcoming, warm and friendly - with tea and biscuits included.

I have attended several different day courses here and all have been really enjoyable and great fun. The class nos. are small (4/5) and individual tuition given by kind and experienced teachers. I recently attended a portrait class as a complete novice run by Lesley Plassey, an enthusiastic and experienced artist who clearly explained the essential aspects of portraiture and showed us her easy to follow method. I was amazed at what I produced on my first attempt (see 2nd photo - the other is from a beginner's glass fusing class). There is also an art gallery on site, stocking reasonably priced original art. I thoroughly recommend you visit and check it out.

I have attended a few different workshops at Vitreus Art and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Mike and Jenny are both excellent tutors and hosts. The workshops are methodical and present the different processes involved in a fun and engaging way.
I have loved every minute and will be back again for more copper foiling and fused workshops.
I have been as both solo and with family/friends. The group sizes are never too large and everyone I have met has been lovely, all sharing a passion for glass and learning new techniques.
There is also a brilliant shop, with amazing handcrafted work from different artists available to buy.

I attended a leaded stained glass class at Vitreus Art and enjoyed it so much that I’ve registered for the fused glass class in March. And I’m sure I won’t stop there as they offer lots and lots of interesting courses. Mike and Jenny are very supportive and encouraging with a true gift for teaching. Highly recommended!

I have attended several classes and enjoyed all of them. Mike and Jenny are highly skilled and enthusiastic teachers ,making the classes fun. They share their knowledge and skills so you go home with a piece of work that is pleasing . I found the classes so addictive that I have been back several times on project days to make pieces of my own design.
It's a great way to spend your time!

I attended an excellent day course at Vitreus Art in Jan 2023 on how to make a stained glass panel. Mike was an instructive and encouraging tutor, Jenny kept us well lubed with tea. Very pleased with how the day went - and with the leaded panel I came away with. Thanks guys!

Vitreus Art, at Bell Plantation has a lovely gallery and on line shop that support local artists. They also run a wide range of courses including painting, jewellery making, stained and fused glass.
It is a fabulous place to learn a new skill or improve existing skills, but be warned it can be addictive!
Jenny and Mike are very welcoming and so knowledgeable. They adapt their teaching methods to the skills / knowledge of the attendees and always make the classes fun!
Over the last 9 months I have attended a number of different courses with Jenny & Mike making a variety of fused glass items including Christmas Decorations, a Wave and a Lantern. I am now confident in my skills to attend Project Days to work on my own ideas.
It is just a lovely place / atmosphere where you can while away a few hours or a day and you always get to take home your finished pieces. I cannot recommend it highly enough!!
