Great food. Pick from what they have. Great seafood, seasonings. You can’t go wrong. Don’t get stuck on one thing, pick from what’s fresh that they have that day, go home and be happy.

I am a local islander and went into Haig many years ago when there were rough fishermen running it and was insulted and treated so poorly that I never went back.
I patronized the other seafood dealer however they were slow to open for the season. So with family in town wanting shrimp I ventured back. What a pleasant surprise with the most friendly and customer service oriented staff ever. I got some shrimp and was surprised to see fresh soft crabs. They offered to clean them for free and talked to me about having some live crabs for sale which are a rarity. The checkout process was fast and smooth and they offered me some ice to keep my shrimp and crabs fresh.
THE BOTTOM LINE: This is a very family friendly and customer service focused seafood retailer that has every fresh seafood you would want to eat so give them a try.

We went her while on vacation in Oak Island. Once we saw the crowds, filled with locals, we knew were were in the RIGHT place! The North Carolina shrimp was fresh and AMAZING! We went back several times during the week. The guy selling the shrimp, who looked like a crusty old fisherman, was fun to talk with.

This place is amazing. We were in town for a week and my relatives and I shopped here 2-3x. You can’t beat it! The fish is insanely fresh and they also had some local sauces. There was also a freezer with goodies in it too.

Best place in the area for fresh, local seafood. Shrimp are local, and awesome and well-priced for how good they are. The service is excellent, and the folks are very knowledgeable. Having company? they will tell you the best catch of the day, and how much you will need. They will even suggest how to cook it.

I buy all my seafood from Haag and Sons whenever I'm on Oak Island. I've tried other markets - but they are by far the freshest and I love that they ARE locals, and offer locally caught fish and shrimp (Brunswick Catch). We own a summer rental on 49th street and inside our "Welcome" booklet - we suggest they purchase any fresh seafood from Haags.... I suggest that to everyone.

The service and quality of products offered are unrivaled on Oak Island. If you love to cook and/or eat seafood, this shop is worth visiting and waiting in line.

THE place for fresh seafood! My kids love visiting to check out what the catch of the day is - and buy dinner! Also, Jon is very knowledgeable and active in the local efforts to protect the future of the fishing industry.

The real deal. Fresh from the days catch. We had 21-25 shrimp per pound. Bought 2 pounds for 4 of us. The best shrimp ever. The smell of the ocean still on them. Used with yellow grits back at home. How can you go wrong. The crusty old guy out front taking orders and money, I swear was a pirate.

Since 1990s i have shopped here to sate my craving. Haig&Son continue to deliver.the saying if the crime is committed in Heaven you don't go to Hell for the wittness. Well if you want the best seafood you dont go to the competition .

You sir are a total JERK! Haags is the best for service and freshness not to mention the customer service! Peoople like you have NO idea what goes into Fresh seafood for the holidays. Haags is local and FRESH, not left over or flash frozen and then thawed!!
