I was over in NE PA, north of Scranton and noticed that the farm was within an hour of my location. Over Thanksgiving holiday, I booked an alpaca walk for my niece and son as a Christmas experience. When we went it was snowing and cold, but it was still very enjoyable. The kids (teenagers) liked walking the alpacas and seeing the other ones in the fields as well as goats and other animals. They really have a lot of alpacas there – over 150 and have a very nice shop of alpaca products – one of the best shops I have seen - so don't miss it (though I think you have to check in for tours there). The shop had sweaters, socks, yarn, toys, slippers, throws, hats,gloves, ornaments, etc that were nice. I saw a lot of bags going out of the shop (Christmas shopping!). I found that my feet were cold and bought a pair of the alpaca socks – amazingly soft and warm!
The alpacas that are walked and the baby alpacas are in a barn that allows close up pictures. The staff in the barn and especially the store were very friendly and helpful. They sell small bags of food to feed the animals (very reasonably priced) and I recommend getting at least one. We all enjoyed feeding the animals. One thing to note is that while the alpaca farm has a Roscoe address – it is several miles outside Roscoe on the mountain. It would be a beautiful drive in spring/summer/fall (still made it in winter weather - and wasn't the only one!).

We absolutely loved it. The bunnies were adorable. We did the self guided tour which was amazing. The alpacas followed us around and the people were amazing. The store has amazing products and 100% worth the money.

Absolutely delightful, a hit with all 12 of us in a multigenerational group. Impossible not to grin while interacting with the alpacas.

My friends and I did a two night stay at Buck Brook. It was relaxing and comfortable, and waking up to alpacas outside your window is delightful! The alpacas are very friendly. Definitely get the tour where you can walk with your own alpaca around the farm. The farm store has beautiful alpaca wool items, so check it out and enjoy conversation with shop keeper Anne-Marie (ask her "who left the cake out in the rain?" haha). Buck Brook is a must-visit; we will be returning in the future.

So much fun walking alpacas. Walked with the owners sister and learned so much about raising, sheering, breeding and their coats.
The alpaca themselves were gentle and mostly cooperative! Fed the momma alpaca and their babies.

This was an unexpected surprise. We stopped in at the Roscoe Diner and, while just waiting for our meal, saw a small map of the town highlighting local businesses. Saw Book Brook Alpacas mentioned, and decided to make a detour from our trip. Punched in the GPS coordinates and we were there in 12 minutes.
We have an alpaca farm near us but they don't have any formal tour or public offering. I didn't know what to expect, but was immediately surprised to find that the farm is open to the public and that they offered tours. Now, when I saw tour, you can have someone go with you, but you can also just walk through on your own and ask questions to staff along the way. We did the latter and had a great time.
First, everything is very organized and clean. There are samples where you can see examples of the alpaca wool, they have a small gem minding station, and then they have an inside barn where you can start interacting with the animals. While the alpacas are the main draw, they also have pigs, rabbits, chickens, hens, and peacocks there as well. They start you in the barn, give you a cup of apple pieces, and you can start feeding the alpaca by hand. They are very docile and will eat right out of your palm.
But even better, when you go outside, you can then walk amongst the alpacas. They give you a cup of grain, and a great many will walk right up to you and eat from your hand. My daughter must have had 6 around her, and she was lightly petting them and having a ball. We also fed the rabbits and the chickens as well, although they were caged. You can walk around the are, see other alpacas, or go to areas where other animals are (like the peacocks area).
Each area had staff that was eager to answer any questions and very friendly. On top of that, it was a very clean operation. Yes, you're going to get animals pooping, there's no two ways around that. But the stalls were clean, the grounds were upkept, and the whole operation was just very well thought out. There were plenty of signs around to let you know where to go, or with information on the animals.
Tours were $10 a person, which wasn't outrageous considering the amount of time we spent there and the quality of the experience. They have a nice little gift shop, where you can get a variety of different alpaca related items, including products made from their very own animals. Again, the staff there was friendly and helpful as well.
It was definitely a highlight to the trip and look forward to going back there when going back through the area with family. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Jake, who was very knowledgeable about alpacas. We had a chance to feed apples to the alpacas, and see their various personalities. Lots of fun with the cute alpacas!

Fun and interesting tour for all ages!! I finally learned the difference between Llamas and Alpacas! Highly recommend.

Underwhelming and overpriced. We got there 5 minutes late and tour guide cut the tour by 10 minutes ending exactly 3:15 without showing us the rest of the farm. The guide didn't take interest in our questions and didn't show much interest in what he was doing. Quite honestly he came across unwelcoming and aloof. This farm needs to up its game if it wants more people to visit. Beautiful scenery though I must say and animals were super cute and welcoming.

We love visiting with our two young kids--ages 5 and 2. We went this past weekend and they loved the experience. Each time we go, Buck Brook seems to expand a bit more--they now have alpaca bunnies, llamas, chickens and roosters (in addition to dozens of alpacas). Definitely recommend a visit for young families. The staff is very friendly as well

Do you sell alpaca wool at the farm?

They do have a store there at the farm, that has a lot of different materials from the alpaca wool. There is yarn for and clothing and gift items.
