Had such a great rafting adventure with Square Eddy, smaller trip size makes for a much more intimate experience. Lunch was excellent, guides were friendly and told great stories. Highly recommend them if you are looking for a fun family adventure in the Adirondacks.

Third annual trip on the river with Square Eddy. This time Lori Phoebe herself was the guide and what a trip! Lots of excitement, great stories and even a vocal serenade. Her lunches are always the best and her company even better. Safety is the number one priority but no fun is sacrificed!

We had the BEST time with Link, Max, and Square Eddy! We just so happened to book our trip before we knew a huge storm was blowing through, pummeling the area with rain. In the 12 hours before our scheduled trip, Link and Lori did a great job communicating with us, letting us know the status of our trip and adjustments that needed to be made for safety as the water kept rising. In the end, they felt it was not only a safe trip, but going to be really fun. I won't lie, my heart skipped a beat hearing the safety instructions thinking I was likely going for a swim, but Link kept us feeling safe the whole time and knows so much about the area - we felt confident heading into some gnarly waves! We laughed so hard and had SUCH a blast - it's going to be disappointing ever doing this again not after a storm! Cannot say enough great things about Square Eddy and the amazing hospitality - they also packed us a yummy homemade lunch and gave us snacks and cold ones after an AWESOME adventure!!!

We had a truly amazing day with Squady Eddy! Lori and Lindsay made everything seem special and a cut above. From the warm welcome, to the additional layers (wetsuit tops and boots!) to the delicious lunch (including homemade brownies!) to the superb leadership of our guide, it was a blast. I've been on white water rafting trips before but this was truly the best I've ever been on. My husband and I loved it, as did our 12 year old daughter. Thank you so much!

Hands down, BEST rafting experience ever. I cannot recommend Square Eddy Expeditions highly enough. From our experienced, knowledge and incredibly fun guide to the absolutely delicious homemade food, Square Eddy is a cut above the rest. The day was perfect, and we will be back time and time again.

Square Eddy is such an awesome company to go down the river with! They are safety oriented, have incredible food, and the people are so personable and fun. Would use Square Eddy every time!

We had a great time on this trip. It is a smaller company, and much more intimate than the other larger companies we saw that date. We were able to distance ourselves from the crowd, and had a great, adventurous, private day on the river. The guides were great and professional, with a delicious homemade lunch and snacks. Highly recommend to anyone rafting the Hudson in upstate New York.

This was an absolutely fabulous experience. Tons of fun, excitement mixed with relaxation and personal attention to detail. My sister and I took a trip down the river with Square Eddy and felt like we were experiencing the best guides, quality boats and professional people. Best spot and will definitely do this again with Square Eddy!

The whole experience was well organized and fun. We ended up having just the two of us and our guide which made it extra personal. The rafting as fun and the guide made it fun and comfortable. Our lunch was also yummy and healthy an added bonus! It was nice to have the option to buy photos ( I felt the price was high but of note this is a separate company). We did purchase the phots as I wanted to have some.
If you are prone to being cold wear layers. Our guide was also prepared to offer extra layers.

Does anyone ever fall in? Could the boat overturn? I’m older and a total non swimmer. i.e. is it safe?

It seems quite safe in this season. Yes the occasional person falls in but everyone has super floaty life jackets and helmets on and you get yanked back in immediately. No one from our boat fell in. You do get to hop out and float along in stretches of calm waters and it’s not scary at all. I would not worry... just enjoy!! You’ll be so glad you went!
