I had zip line set up for Oct. 13th and they clearly stated they zip line in all weather so be prepared so our appt was at 10 am so the morning of when we were on the way to ziplining they called me to cancel because of the weather. It wasn’t raining. It was drizzling so what happened is THEY didn’t want to come in on a Sunday and must not have had a lot of people signed up so THEY decided to cancel even though they say they zip line in all weather. We could have slept in and we flew into Albany airport just to zip line only for them to cancel and they didn’t seem to care and said we could come Monday but couldn’t because we were going to be in Boston. Very disappointed in their service!

This is an excellent rope course with many different levels. My teenage kids really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would go again.

Puentes colgantes y tirolesas extraordinarios! Retos de equilibrio y altura con la mayor seguridad posible. Un equipo de trabajo amable, claro, capacitado y paciente. Lo recomiendo para mayores de10 años.

I took three 14 year old girls to the zipline on a day off from school. They have lost so much this year with COVID. This seemed like a safe activity given that it was outdoors. The staff was great, everyone was wearing masks properly. Of course it is not possible to distance when they are hooking you up to the line. It was a chilly fall day, but the girls had a good time. I would recommend it! Looking forward to coming back maybe during the summer!

Fun, exhilarating experience. The staff was great. Completely attentive and nice making adventurers feel at confident. I did not see a single person distracted by their phone, which was referenced by other reviewers. I have 0 tolerance for that and watched closely. 10-year old son enjoyed.

Beautiful location in the canopy with a range of courses with different difficulties. The TWEEZLE system worked great. We spend several hours there and did 3 courses (green, yellow, & blue) and the 7-stage zip line down to the front.
My biggest concern with the Ariel Adventure park was safety, especially for zip lines. My friend got moderately hurt (head slammed into a tree) because of no padding to protect the landing and no guidance on how to right oneself if turned around in flight (he took off correctly, feet first).
A few suggested changes:
1. Safety video (or in person briefing) needs to cover zip lines, including guidance that you should go feet first and if you get turned around how to twist yourself to the right position. The existing video only showed you how to mount, not how to stay safe, and none of the staff covered them either.
2. They need to install pads on the trees/poles at the bottom of every zip line. If you get turned around and can't twist yourself around you have no way of stopping yourself, making it very dangerous since you essentially ram you head/back into the tree or wooden pole.
3. More active guidance by the staff, especially on the zip lines which are the most dangerous. They were responsive when you needed them but being more proactive in communicating how to be safe would be helpful.
4. Would be very helpful to have a map at the base camp for each course so you know what you are choosing before getting on the course and being stuck in something that is beyond your comfort zone. Would also be helpful for these maps to show the escape (zip line down) options so you know how much you have to do before you can get off if needed.

The ropes course at Catamount is perfectly fine. We rated only 3 stars due to the lack of attention from the staff at the tree top area. Most were glued to their phones rather than attending to climbers who were stuck or needed help. ONE guy - TODD was remarkable! He welcomed new climbers, reminded everyone about the safety basics, helped untangle any carabiners/ ropes, kept an eye on families with young children would needed some advice on how to tackle an element, saved a woman from a stick zip line by climbing to her from the ground up and ensured ever single person was safe. If you shouted “staff need help” - chances are Todd was running towards you to help. Everyone else - just sat along a tree and stared at their phones.
Unfortunately my husband disembarked a rappelling element the wrong way (seated vs standing) and dislocated his shoulder on the way down. The staff closest to us, male w/ short blond hair, small frame, ray ban sunglasses, was more focused on his phone than in watching out for proper dismount. We know accidents happen but clearly there’s a difference in the level of staff commitment between Todd and everyone else. Please hire more Todd’s and we’ll gladly come back.

Taken the grandchildren there several times, I also participated. Staff makes it fun, safe and worry free. Instructions are clearly given and they will talk you through some of the more challenging aspects, especially when you are 70. Loved every minute especially the zip lines, long enough to be exhilarating but not at all scary. I highly recommend for a f unfilled day that wil leave you feeling great and everyone tired.

This was our first time coming to the Adventure Park and definitely not our last! For beginners like us we felt like we were able to take on intense courses in just a few hours that we were there thanks to the training we were given from the staff and the feeling of safety while you were up on the course! We haven't tried the Black Diamond courses yet due to lack of energy and time after doing the other three but we were very entertained and very much feeling the burn after the 3 courses it was awesome! The obstacles were very well-constructed nothing rattled or shook I felt very secure I was able to reach everything which I appreciated being not so tall and my husband being not so limber was still able to have the time of his life and move through the course at a good pace! I have to say me personally I love the zip lining especially after getting all sweaty in the ropes course it was so refreshing to Breeze through the air especially towards the end when you make your way back to the entrance! The only thing I wish was that we had taken some type of attached GoPro or ask someone to take our picture because we had no photo memories but I guess it's
only for safety precaution that you can't have a camera up there. Would definitely go again with some friends and try the more intense courses next time, if we can handle it not so sure LOL

Great for kids and young adults, the courses are labeled based on difficulty, "green" to "dble black diamond", so there is something for everyone. They do have an age/height requirement I think, bring plenty of H2O and sun screen.

I apologize, we do not have rooms at Catamount. You would need to look at nearby hotels, B&B's and inns. You can visit the Lodging section of CatamountTrees web site for lodging options.
