Would definitely recommend the tour, it was a great experience! Beer tasting and informative talk and tour for an hour. Then over to the Vale pub for pie and chips, and STP which were all delicious. A treat to take home of 2 bottles and a branded glass in presentation pack! The passion of the owners is evident in their superb beer!

Absolutely brilliant brewery tour, generous beer samples, very friendly and informative and excellent food at the end at a proper brewery owned pub. Would do it again.

Been a regular at this groups pubs for many years, previously given 5* reviews, but currently its struggling.
Regularly only 3-4 own brand beers on, and frequent running out of these, and only 1 lager line, at the pub I visit
This brewery used to have great choice, no longer.
I understand Covid restrictions, but the local competition are brewing lots and offering variety, either up the brewing capacity, or get guest beers in.
Loyalty only goes so far, customer choice should be paramount, or people spend their money elsewhere

Went on the brewery tour, very small, very cold, quite informative, a bit below par.
Not withstanding this the beer they produce is, for the real ale drinker, up there with the very best, be it pale ale or the darker beers you prefer, every one is exceptional. Their Oat mill Stout and Dinner ale are truly a delight. The Vale pub is owned by the brewery, it is small and quaint all be it a bit shabby, it could really do with a good clean and the banning of dogs, its far to small to serve food and allow them in such a small area. Its patrons are a complete mix from suited and booted to farmers, and all the better for it, a great mix of people. Overall a very good pub that could be great, just tidy it up and get rid of the dogs.

We arrived at the Vale Inn half an hour early for this Brewery Tour, and sampled the Best Bitter, which was OK. There were about 30 people on the tour, and it was rather chaotic to start (our names weren't on the attendee list).
We ambled down to the brewery just nearby and were offered a beer (Long Hop) while we listened to Lee's history of his pub(s) and the brewery. Another beer was offered (Best Bitter this time), and we did eventually move inside the units to see the equipment and have the brewing process described.
This was all OK, but I would have appreciated being able to sit down for a few minutes and have a choice of a different beer to sample.
After the tour was over we returned to the Vale Inn for a meal and a presentation pack of 2 bottled beers and a glass.

I went with a few friends for the brewery tour and there were around 30 people in our tour. The owner is a genuine, down to earth guy who explains all the background of when & why he started the brewery. He was very informative and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. We were given at least 3 pints straight from the barrel whilst on the tour. After the tour finished you walk back down the road to the Vale Inn, which is a lovely pub serving all their own ales. A lovely meal followed, which was a brilliant pie by Lord of the Pies (a local pie maker) with chips and mushy peas and a lovely sticky toffee pudding afterwards! It was a very enjoyable night out and I would highly recommend it. Even just a visit to the Vale Inn and sample the lovely beers is a must when in Bollington

When we did the brewery tour we started at the Vale Inn for a pint to sample the produce before heading across the road to the micro-brewery and then back to the pub for a beer and some grub after. The pub and the food are great but the tour is exceptional. Obviously you get to learn a lot about brewing and it's well present, but you also get the back story about how they became brewers, the lessons along the way, and the rewards at the end. Really nice group of owners who are proving to be very successful. Long may it continue.

I was bought this brewery tour as a birthday present. On arrival at brewery were immediately presented with close to a pint of Bollington Best. Lee then gave the group of about 20, a light hearted summary of how the brewery was set up. There were plenty of questions from the group, which Lee answered in an informative and entertaining manner. We then sampled (a pin) of White Nancy which was on a hand pump. Lee then went through the equipment, where it had come from and how it had been upgraded over the last few years. This was followed by a pint of Long Hop and then Lee went through the process of making beer and the differences between their various offerings. A top up of White Nancy whilst Lee continued to discuss their beers. The tour lasted about 90 minutes. We then all retired to the Vale and had pie and chips, followed by sticky toffee pudding...... very tasty. On leaving we were given 2 bottles of beer and a Bollington Brewery pint glass. We both thoroughly enjoyed our trip and at £30 per person thought it was great value. Highly recommended.
