Crossing from the French part of the island of Saint Martin is a fast boat, but it is old, although it does not affect its operation in any way. Great transfer and the 20 minutes passed quickly.

Horrible experience leaving Anguilla. When paying for the crossing at the Anguilla counter, a horrible lady explains to us that we can only pay in cash. Two options are available to us: 1) take a taxi to withdraw cash and return or 2) Arrive in Saint Martin, withdraw the money and give it to the captain of the boat. We choose the second option. We go through customs, paying the return tax BY CARD, and we sit down. My friend decides to go to the bathroom. The horrible lady comes into the toilet and explains to him that she has finally changed her mind and that he has to pay now. The discussion continues, she starts shouting at us, explaining to us that we are going to stay here, stuck. She tries to snatch our passports from our hands. The tone rises and there miraculously, the lady who runs a shop offers to give us the money in exchange for payment by card. We are deeply shocked by this attack. It is unacceptable. I'm not going to stop there.

We flew into St. Maarten and booked our charter with GB Ferries to Anguilla. The first time we visited Anguilla in 2019 and GB was located at the airport but this time it was a short Taxi ride to the dock, not an issue just different from our first experience. All of the transfers are included in the price of your ferry ticket. GB is very accommodating, they meet you at the airport take you step by step through immigration and will make sure you have 1st class service on their charters. As we arrived in Anguilla we simply waited for our bags and jumped in a taxi at the ferry terminal and off we went. On the return trip you are greeted at the ferry terminal and walked step by step through the exit process then you simply wait on the ferry, take the transfer back to the airport and are dropped off right at the terminal for departure. We are already booked for 2024 and will certainly charter with GB for our trip.

Great experience. They made the trip fast and personable. The captain was great and gave us tips on things to do while on the island. Drinks and ginger candy were thoughtful touches.

GB met us at the airport in St Martin, and hand held us through the customs & immigration process both on St. Martin and on Anguilla. Cara gave us all the information we needed to prepare our vaccination paperwork, and even helped us avert a crisis when we weren't able to submit our papers via the government's online portal. Just a great team all around.

They went above and beyond. They helped us through everything and were way more helpful than SXM Airport, the Four Seasons concierge, and many other folks that we were trying to get info from on covid testing requirements and locations. Cara was a lifesaver and made our trip so much easier. She even expedited processing of our entry applications. Everything about our experience with them was great. So responsive and kind....and knew her stuff. Went above and beyond

Cara and team really helped us navigate all the COVID restrictions. Without GB Ferries, our trip would not have happened.
Since getting to Anguilla requires transiting through St Maarten, you need to apply to both Anguilla and St. Maarten. The Anguilla application process is more involved and takes longer than St. Maarten, but St. Maarten gives you a much shorter window for the COVID test. Because of this any delay in COVID test results can cause you to miss the application approval window in Anguilla. We were down to the wire and in fact missed the deadline, but Cara was able to walk us through the process as well as work with the local authorities to get our approvals in on time.
In addition the boats were clean and well-maintained, and everyone we met were pleasant and professional.

Had a round trip to Anguilla via GB ferry and was surprised with non extra charges.
First we were told that Anguilla’s port immigration is closed but paying an extra $100 will allow us to get in. I was a little skeptical that a government port will stay open to wait for a 45 mins boat ride for $100, meanwhile there are other boats going to Anguilla.
Leaving Anguilla was surprised with a booking fee and a 5% charge fees (don’t know what’s it’s for). I asked why do we have to pay for these fees on our return trip , and they replied that these fees are always there.
No wonder why their website does not list their trip price.
Be aware of extra charges!!!!!!

Thank you for your review of our service.
For accuracy this traveler did not have a "roundtrip to Anguilla via GB". In fact, the traveler NO reservation and was lucky to get to Anguilla with GB due to the boat being in SXM awaiting the delayed arrival of reserved guests. The traveler arrived on the same delayed flight.
There is a closure time of the Ports in Anguilla and at present the Ferry Port closes at 6pm. Therefore, every vessel arriving close to or outside this time, even by 15mins, the vessel is charged an hourly overtime fee by the Port as well as Customs (and the customs charge varies depending on the number of officers on duty). These are law regulated charges levied against EACH vessel arriving into port late. So indeed, there are extra charges when your flight arrives late and the boat brings you to AXA.
If the Traveler had made a reservation in advance he would have been aware of this because there would have been communications once the flight's delayed arrival would bring them into Anguilla outside normal port operating time and the decision would have been his to make whether he wanted the boat to come back being fully aware of the overtime charges or he overnights in SXM and take a boat over following day during the normal Scheduled Times.
The overtime fee referred to by this traveler was shared between his party and the other family on board which is normal and only fair, so in fact, he would have paid only half of the $100.
It is also customary for the rate of the transfer to be increased once the vessel has to operate outside it's normal daytime Schedule. However, on this occasion, GB had agreed with the reserved guests NOT to charge the Late Shuttle Rate and only requested them to pay to the vessel, the Port and Customs levied overtime charges against the vessel. This traveler, even though a 'walk-in' had to share in that costs as well which is only fair.
In regards to him returning from AXA with GB, the night prior to his departure from AXA he requested through his hotel a reservation with GB and the reservation form was sent to him to complete and return and the Form speaks to a 'booking fee' and he was quoted the regular rate. The rates and booking fee can be found on the website in the booking section. However, when the traveler checked in for his departure, he indicated that he expected a discounted rate because 'when he came the night, the man on the boat told him he would pay less if he did the roundtrip'. Yet, he did not pay roundtrip that night only the one-way. So he was quoted he regular one-way rate when he made the booking through the hotel. When the booking was made for him, the emails of the form and confirmation of his one-way departure was sent directly to his email. He did not query anything neither the rate quoted or the booking fee neither did he mention he had taken the boat the night of his arrival or his conversation with the mate. However, once the agent verified that he was on the boat manifest of the late arrival on date the agent did him the kindness of reversing his charge and charged him the discounted roundtrip rate and $7 booking fee. There was never an additional 5% fee.

We booked this ferry through our hotel the night before because we did not want to rely on the public ferry as we had experienced the pubic ferry on the way over. Not as reliable.
We were taxied to the blowing point ferry terminal where they take your passports, fill out boarding passes and then you pay $70 per person. The gentleman in charge took our bags. Then go to the exit departure window for $58 for 2 people then go through a door through security. It’s like a table 3 workers and a metal detector. All very friendly people.
We waited then told if we had the specific boarding pass to follow him. To the dock we went. The boat only takes 12 people that’s it then the crew. They put your luggage on board and then pick a seat. They give you instructions on how to use the life jackets and where they are located. It’s a small boat. We sat on the back bench. It’s not like a huge high speed ferry boat going out of Boston harbor it’s a pleasure boat that’s fast. That being said the staff was cordial friendly etc. only thing crossing the bay there were 4 footers. I’m a boater and those waves were hitting us sideways. Was not a smooth ride but the captain handled it well. The screw offered us drinks on board as we were going through the marina area headed towards the st Maarten side towards the airport. Pretty amazing in the bay boats are abandoned, sunken still tossed up in shore from the hurricane from 2 years ago.
Overall a good experience just pricey.

The boat ride to Anguilla 🇦🇮 is never like the ride to St. Barth’s when it’s windy 🌬 it could be a bit bumpy but the captain is great 👍🏾 at getting you there safe with minimal bumps as possible but this time of year it’s much calmer with a few windy days but not in the winter time. Would like to know what think after you’ve done it 😊👍🏾🇦🇮

The GB service sounds amazing. My husband and I are traveling to Anguilla for the first time and would like to inquire about transportation to our hotel after arriving in Blowing Point. Taxis available at Blowing Point ferry terminal? Thanks so much. Will definitely be booking GB services.

You won't be left stranded, it simply would not happen because Anguillians would sort out a taxi for you rather than leave you. Yes, that's what this island is really like.
Ask you hotel to collect you, they should offer this free.
Have a wonderful time and thank you for supporting Anguilla after the hurricane.

We are planning our first trip to Anguilla this August and I am very confused about the Ferry options from SMX to Blowing Point, Anguilla. I understand that there are additional fees to the quoted rates on websites (departure fees? taxes, etc). I've noted that both Calypso Charters and GB Ferries have high ratings (customer satisfaction). Calypso quotes $130 US for a roundtrip and GB states $80 US each way. Can you give me your opinion on these or other recommended ferries and how the additional fees are charged/collected. Thank you!

Good Day. Thanks for the comments above. As a matter of clarity our round trip price automatically discounts our one way service to $120.00. Our service does not include any hidden fees. The ground shuttle in St. Maarten is complimentary as well as the drinks and WIFI access on board. There is a US$28.00 Departure Tax paid when leaving Anguilla as well as the porters which are employed independently usually expect a tip if you use there service. Trust this provides some clarity and we can welcome you on board our vessel in August.

Can you take us from Anguilla to SMX? What is the cost and the departure times please - there are two of us plus luggage.

Good Day we will be happy to have you on board this coming November if you have finalised your dates please send us an email through our website with that information and a reservations agent will assist you in finalising your booking.
Currently we have not finalized our winter schedule as yet but it will not deviate too much from the winter schedule currently on our website.

I have been going to Anguilla since 1996. I had an accident in 2011 that left me in a wheelchair and due to the Wallblake Anguilla airport having only turboprop and small jet commercial service with no jet ways to disembark would like to fly into St. Maarten and take a private boat to Anguilla.
Can your service accommodate someone in a wheelchair on your boat?
Kind Regards
