We discovered the Santa Ynez Valley a couple of years ago and have now been there 7 times! The scenery is lovely; great hiking such as Lovers Loop, the winetasting is plentiful and excellent, ForFriends Inn has become a second home for us; Ellie's Tap & Vine is our favorite restaurant along with The Gathering Table, Brothers Red Barn and so many others!

The valley is so beautiful. We drove through the area for the first time and were just amazed by its natural beauty.

Street scenes of Santa Ynez. Small downtown two or three blocks in each direction. Restaurants really good reputation, a Post Office, stores for clothing and art.

Love Solvang! Such a cute town with great food and wine! We visited Peasants Feast restaurant and tried the brisket grilled cheese with Tomato soup, was sooo good! Also had brunch at brekkies and really enjoyed the ambiance!

Driving to our B & B in Santa Ynez, we explored the areas around us such as Buellton and Solvang. One section of the drive goes through huge trees lining both sides of the road and believe it is south of Ostrichland if that is helpful. Everything was green and the drive from the San Fernando Valley to Santa Ynez via 101 was perfect.

We have gone to the Chumash Casino for years. Long before they built the Casino and Hotel there today. Once in a while, we would come out winners. There are a lot of nice People we have met there from all over the Country. We always played the Keno Slots. For a long time we could win something but, after they started with building the Chumash Museum, wining is a thing of the past. We have gone this last week and let me tell you, if you win a little when you first sit down, take it and leave. The chance you will win anything the second is nil. We don't use their membership card anymore because, we could never win anything when the card was in use. When we yanked the card, we would start to win. I have been reporting about how people we have met are no longer going to the Casino. At the rate of losing every time you go there, it is amazing how your Bank Account grows when you stay away for a few months. Earlier this month I hit a 7 out of 7 on the slots. I have to say I was shocked. That way the first time in more then three years that this has happened. Some thing must have went wrong with their Computer. That is a rarity for over three years now. Small money like 5 out of 5 is about the only thing you can win with. 7's, 8's and 9's are not going to happen if you sit there and stuffed ten thousand dollars into their slots.

Beautiful scenery with vineyards, mountains, cows, horses, winding roads, little towns, lots of wineries. Recommend!

My wife and I really enjoy our visits to the Santa Ynez Valley. There are many great wineries to visit including Beckmen, Demetria, Stolpman, and others. Many great restaurants as well along with beautiful scenery and friendly people.

Really enjoyed that we could walk to all the Danish bakeries, wine tasting rooms, resturants, and shops. The staff at all the businesses were professional and helpful! The area is unique and beautiful with the Danish inspired buildings and windmills.

This is a hidden gem for wine tasting. There are many, many wineries in the hills that produce some of the world's best wines. Its a great place for a bike ride or a long walk or hike. Along with the great wine there are some really good restaurants, coffee places and eclectic shops. It's a great place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger towns and cities. The rolling hills and the native oak trees add to the peaceful feeling.
