We stayed at the lodge one night. It was fairly expensive for the off season and considering they have 100 rooms and only had guests in three rooms (we had two rooms). The rooms were okay. The restaurant was great and had a catch of the day game meat. I had Eland and our driver had a t-bone steak that was very good. After the drive we had breakfast and it was very good. The service was outstanding. The other guests were two Chinese men who were very demanding and rude to the servers. We believed the servers went above and beyond expectations showing them kindness. One of the problems we had with the lodge's game drive into the park was that those two chinamen were on the same drive and they would not listen to the driver and almost caused a dangerous situation with an elephant. They talked all the time scaring game, and whistled continually at animals when the driver requested that they not do that... Our game driver guide handled there rude chinese men well.

I lost track of how many safari drives I went on with Roy over a 3 day period - they were always fun, interesting and informative. Roy is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about the local wildlife. Highly recommended - thanks Roy and Tash!

After a fantastics few days at victory falls we went on the Wild Walk. Good guides who knew it all and a bit more. Surely good to have experienced guides eho can point you to what you would otherwise have missed if on your own.

While staying at Sable Sands, bordering Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, We completed six game drives and one “bush walk.” Our guide was a tracker and spotter of wild life. We were educated in the various animal’s foot prints, how long ago they came by the area that we were in and whether they were walking or running. In addition, we were taught how to evaluate animal excrement. At the end of the walk, we were treated to a sundowner (cocktail and munchies). I had a cold Zambezi beer. The whole experience was informative and lots of fun. Neither of us had any fear while in the care of this certified tracker.

Walking safari was fun with Roy he was raised in the area! You can tell he knows it by heart he is very knowledgable of animal behavior - wild, fun, safe experience!

Tracking wild animals with Roy was fun and exciting! Roy grew up in this area so he is very knowledgable of the wild life, but what is most important he is very respectful of it! Great learning experience!

We did a 2 hour walking safari at the excellent value of 30$ per hour for the two of us! cheaper if there were more of you. Our guide was very knowledgable and kept us interested even though there was not much wildlife about.

Last week we stayed at Sable Sands, bordering Hwange National Park, Dete, Zimbabwe. We went on several game drives with Roy Aylward and his wife, both excellent spotters of wildlife (including viewing lions just outside the lodge) ; we loved the beautiful sundowners! Roy is a certified guide and has many many years of experience with walking in the wild - especially close encounters with elephants, tracking wild animals and exploring the stunning nature of Hwange National Park and surrounding area. The walking safari we did with Roy, tracking of buffalos through the bush, was a really extraordinary experience!Can't wait to return in the future and explore some more...

My boyfriend and I went on four game drives with Roy during our short 2-night stay in Hwange and had a heap of fun. We were lucky enough to see lions with a kill, close elephant encounters with large herds and many other general game and bird species. Roy was professional, organised and very friendly. His love of the bush and knowledge of the area was very evident. We would definately book game drives with Roy if we are lucky enough to return to Hwange in the future.

I joined Roy Aylward on a walking safari in Hwange, and it was absolutely fantastic. His experience as a guide and tracker is evident. He is professional, and I felt safe throughout. He was kind enough to take me on the walking safari by myself, without a large group. He was able to find a great diversity of animals during the rainy season when these are harder to find because they are spread out when the water is plentiful. However, this made it so much more rewarding when we found them. We walked through the bushes for approximately 3 hours, climbed threw a few branches to get a better view, and also drove around a bit. And then the beer at the end with Roy was just a bonus. Overall, a wonderful experience and one that I would recommend again.
