Thankyou to Rizvil was was excellent to deal with. This is a genuine gen and jewellry store close to Galle Face. It has a vast selection of items and fantastic customer service. They aren't pushy and its a very relaxed and welcoming environment. My partner bought a set of earings. they provide valuation certificates etc. I would recommend seeing them if you are in Colombo and looking for Jewelry

Qudsi is a genuine, no-nonsense place to buy authentic gemstones. For tourists, finding real stones and a shop free from tuk-tuk commissions can be challenging in such a large market, but as soon as I entered Qudsi, Mr. Fasal and Yasheen made me feel right at home. They are incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what they do. They didn’t rush me at all, and my partner and I were welcomed with warm Sri Lankan hospitality.
Yasheen and Fasal went above and beyond to help me find my dream rings. I ended up purchasing a 5-carat Zambian pear-cut emerald ring set in white gold, a cobalt-blue spinel ring with a diamond cluster, and a Mahenge red spinel ring with a double diamond cluster. The cobalt-blue spinel was particularly exceptional, being one of the most lustrous and darkest shades of blue spinel I’ve seen. When I requested an even darker shade than what was in the store, Yasheen and Fasal brought one in from their exhibition showpiece without hesitation, despite the store already having an impressive selection.
I also got the most beautiful Prehnite drop earrings. It was a joy to choose my own stones and cuts to create a personalized pair with character.
With only three nights before my flight from Colombo, Qudsi managed to get all three rings and the earrings ready in time. I requested a small design change in one of the rings, and they went the extra mile, staying up all night to deliver it to my hotel at 4 a.m., just before my flight.
I feel incredibly lucky to have found Qudsi in one of my favorite countries. Yasheen and Fasal made us feel like we found a home away from home. When I return to Colombo, this will undoubtedly be my go-to place for expanding my gemstone collection.
Yasheen and Fasal went above and beyond to help me find my dream rings. Amazing experience shopping at the Jewel Qudsi. I was referred to this store prior to even leaving the US. I was able to pick out quality pieces and even design a piece that a colleague will pick up to bring back to the US for me. Mr. Fazal drew it in minutes and fit the mental picture I saw. He even was able to pop the color on a pair of earrings for me adding some color to the back, within 24 hours. Pleasant surprise. Must visit while in town!

We came across this shop, slightly hidden and beautiful when we enter it. The property owner was lovely to us and took the time it took to advise us. I recommend!

I've shopped at Qudsi several times and keep coming back. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and Fazal is terrific and always remembers repeat customers. He is happy to work with you to design custom pieces and will help you find the best stones and settings. I've loved every piece I've gotten here, and I'm excited to wear my new custom designed earrings and necklace!

On a recent ten week visit from Australia I took two items of my daughter's jewellery for repair. I had met Fazal the owner on a previous stay in Colombo via my daughter-in-law who had repairs done there and was very pleased with the excellent work done. Subsequently I decided to have a gold ring with two gemstones made. Fazal was able to replicate the mid fifteenth century original from photos. The ring was perfectly and artfully made to my delight which was enhanced by the very reasonable cost: a fraction of what it would have cost to make a bespoke ring in Australia. I have no hesitation to recommend Jewel Quasi.

An incredible experience visiting Qudsi this afternoon, Fazal was friendly, informative and made the experience delightful. The prices were incredible and pieces were stunning. I will no doubt be visiting again and would recommend a visit to anyone looking to buy jewellery in Colombo!

We had the pleasure of dealing with Rizvil and the owner of the shop, who is certified gemologist, Fazal. Both are very knowledgable and a pleasure to deal with.
We were only in Colombo for one and a half days and we went there specifically to purchase an item of jewellery. After doing extensive research about the different jewellers in Colombo, we asked our hotel to arrange for a Tuk Tuk to come and collect us and we went to two of the largest jewellery shops in the area. After coming away empty handed, the Tuk Tuk driver told us that he knew of a shop where "today" was the last day of its 50% sale. I warned my husband that I had read that this is a common ploy and that we were not to be duped into buying anything from wherever the Tuk Tuk driver took us to. As it turns out, we were taken to a place which actually had quite good reviews online and it was very un-pressured, however, it was a gem shop which sold loose stones, not jewellery, and we were looking for a specific item, not loose gem stones. Though there was no pressure from the sales guy, we did not give them our phone number when they asked for it.
When the tuk tuk driver dropped us off at the hotel, he wanted to arrange to collect us the next day and he wanted to defer payment until we had finished on the second day. We chose to pay him after that first day and we did not call him again.
We returned to our hotel rather disheartened and that evening I did more internet trawling and make a list of 6-8 jewellers that were on Galle Road and Sea Street which was where our hotel was too.
The next morning we decided to avoid the tuk tuk drivers and to walk. The first jewellers we came to was Jewel Qudsi where we were very politely greeted by the softly spoken Rizvil. The shop is a veritable Alladins cave with a plethora of jewellery and gems. A traditional shop with wooden framed glass cabinets and tables which were opened up for us so we could really get a proper up close look. My favourite items were placed in a tray and I was invited to try the jewellery on, all in my own time and with no pressure. We were allowed to take our time looking and asking questions.
I fell in love with one particular bracelet but was determined to still go to the other jewellers before making a decision. So we then spent the next 3 hours walking down Galle Road (admittedly, I didn't think it was going to take so long!). We were even approached on the pavement by a very well dressed man who introduced himself as an engineer working in the area and he too spun us a tale about how his wife and daughter had come across a really great gem shop the previous day and today was the last day of a 50% sale, he actually offered to take us there!
Most of the shops do not want you walking around browsing, they prefer to sit you at a desk with a designated salesperson and they then bring you selected items, so if you don't know what you specifically want, its quite hard to get to see much of a selection. Also, we noted that all of the shops have designated parking areas for the tuk tuk and taxi drivers and we realised that the drivers receive a commission on successful sales - which I am fine with really, everybody has to earn a living, but it makes the drivers very insistent and made me very uncomfortable. Incidentally, after we had purchased from Jewel Qudsi, we found out that they do not pay commissions to drivers, they prefer to give their clients the discount, hence they don't have hoards of drivers parked outside and its up to the clients to find them directly - which luckily, we did.
Anyway, after a very long and hot walk, we did get a tuk tuk back to the hotel and after lunch we went back to Jewel Qudsi where we successfully concluded our purchase on a beautiful multicoloured semi-precious gemstone bracelet with a matching sapphire necklace pendant. We have no idea about the value of semi-precious stones so I am unable to say if we made a great purchase or not, but I can say that we bought exactly what I was looking for, I absolutely love my new bracelet and pendant and I felt so comfortable with Rizvil and Fazal that I would not hesitate to purchase from them again. I'm not sure I will be visiting Sri Lanka again but I would definitely purchase online and pay the import taxes to spain upon delivery. I plan to purchase some matching earrings in the future.

Excellent gemstone business with broad selection of sapphires, tourmalines and other stones. We did our due diligence at other stores but returned to Qudsi as the range of stones met our criteria in quality and price. We ended up buying five stones, two sapphires, two tourmalines and one aquamarine. The quality of the stones we looked at was excellent. Staff were very patient (we were in there for at least two hours), knowledgeable and professional. We used their loupe to examine the stones closely and found the cut, clarity and colour to be of a high standard.
This business had been recommended by a friend and I’m so glad I paid two visits, but after visiting others it was clear why they have such consistently high reviews. Definitely worth a visit, you’ll end up returning! Also, good to know they do online shopping too.

It is hard to not be completely captivated by the equisite jewellery and gems at Jewel Qudsi!
From the moment you descend the stairs and enter the store you are welcomed as a valued guest. Fazal and his lovely team really listened to what we were looking for and came up with so many sumptuous pieces to look over. We bought three stunning pieces, each unique and perfectly gorgeous.
It can be a bit concerning when buying jewellery far from home; who to trust, who to avoid, so reading the reviews on TripAdvisor helped the decision making process to visit Jewel Qudsi and we could not be happier. On return to home the pieces we purchased have been valued at over double what we paid for them. The valuer said we got a really great buy.
You won't go wrong visiting Fasal and his team!

When I was shopping in Jewel Qudsi, I witnessed a couple placing an order for an engagement ring. I overheard some details and found the staff to be very willing to customize their clients' design wishes. The couple had been referred by someone else who had purchased their wedding ring from there. Jewel Qudsi seems to get a large clientele by word of mouth. Try it out!
