Absolutely one of the best trips we have ever had. From the moment we landed (at midnight in Colombo) to the last morning. Gihan our guide and Manoj our driver (and guide also!) were beyond fantastic. Gihan and his team were always there on hand if we needed any recommendations of where to eat or what to see and their attention to detail and ensuring that we were looked after and happy was 100 percent.
We were travelling with our 3 teenage kids and the holiday was brilliant for them and us. The right mix of adventure and the magical with great hotels. I particularly loved the fact that Gihan walked with us and guided us up the massive Lions Rock and kept the cheeky monkeys away from my daughter (who wasn't a fan of them trying to steal her coca cola!). We really enjoyed Manoj and Gihan's smile and support every day.
Gihan and his team definitely know the ins and outs of the country and really do find the hidden gem boutique hotels (the first hotel - our room was the size of a house!). And they can tailor to your needs and are flexible - so any budget of hotel they were able to sort for us.
A great and safe way to embrace an amazing country. One day we are in Kandy at the temple of the Buddha's tooth (a truly magical experience in the evening time), the next we are up in the tea plantations at nearly 7000 feet and the following day we are watching a leopard on a safari up close.
You can do as much or as little as you like - but we really loved the flexibiity of the air conditioned van as a base to drive us to all these exotic places you would never reach on your own (or very easily!) and a new fantastic hotel every few days. Loved the stunning views from our Tea plantation hotel and the infinity pool on the roof of the hotel in Mirrissa looking out to the beach opposite.
I loved the fact that Manoj ensured we all got on the tourist train from Nuriya Ella to Ella without missing it and protected us from the melee. I've done many back-packing travels in my day - but much preferred combining adventure with comfort and that element of safety for the kids.
Gihan got us a local SIM card when we arrived and we used watts app for all our comms - which made things really easy both before travel and during. It's easy to get money out at ATMS in Sri Lanka and really stunning place to visit. I would highly recommend Ceylon awaits for that special bespoke tour to your family.

We had a fantastic time with Ceylon Awaits Tours!
If you are thinking about travelling around Sri Lanka you should plan your trip with Ceylon awaits. Gihan the owner of the tour company planned every minute for us and did not dissapoint, he paid attention to the smallest details that you wouldnt think of yourself to make our trip even more special. Our tour guide Nihal was such a gentlemen, who made sure we were looked after at all times and made sure our trip ran as smoothly as possible. Our driver Janitha who was also a gentlmen got us to and from our destenations safely and timely. Could not reccomend this tour operator more.

We had wanted to go to Sri Lanka for some time, and had a general idea of where we would like to go.
I initially contacted Gihan through a recommendation from a friend of mine who had previously visited to Sri Lanka.
This was the best decision we made for the entire trip. Gihan is a dream to work with, he and his team compiled a detailed day to day itinerary with sites and excursions. Many things that we definitely wouldn't have done had to we done it without them.
On arriving to Sri Lanka, Gihan, Nihal and Manoj were there to meet us. Nihal was our guide and Manoj was our driver.
I can't say enough about these guys. Gihan and Manoj have a vast knowledge of the country (Gihan also on food and wine due to his previous experience as a food and drinks manager, which was handy for selecting wine and cocktails). They were both so accommodating for us reorganizing trips ect due to rain etc. The peace of mind afforded to us with Nihal and Manoj was second to none, an example of this was when we took the train from Ella to Kandy (part of the way) we didn't have to worry about our luggage and could really just enjoy the views from the train. They selected some amazing restaurants for lunch and dinner throughout Sri Lanka.
We visited all of the attractions we had planned and many many more hidden gems that we had not expected and which turned out to be often better than some of the stuff we wanted to go to!
If you are considering going to Sri Lanka, do not pass these guys.

I did a lot of research on tour companies for my family of 8 before I settled on Ceylon Awaits Tours. From the moment of contact, Gihan was most helpful and adapted an itinerary to our needs. I had a fairly good idea of where and what we wanted to see in the 10 days we had in Sri Lanka, and Gihan and his team made sure that this tour was "our tour". We were greeted at the airport by Gihan, our driver Sarath and guide Nihal, where the friendly service began immediately. We were never pressured to go somewhere or see something that we were not interested in, in fact some days when we were a little tired from sight seeing, we were happy to just laze by the pool and do our own thing. Sarath drove us around safely and confidently (believe me you need a driver) in a very comfortable mini bus and loaded our bags everyday onto the bus, and Nihal was a happy and friendly guide who could answer any questions we had. Unfortunately Nihal had to leave us on day 3 but that is when we were blessed with Sahan. His english was excellent and his happy can-do attitude was a bonus. He had a great sense of humour and he got along really well with my children (ages 15 - 24) and my husband and I. He helped us converse with the locals and nothing was ever too much trouble if we asked for anything. This trip was to mark my 50th birthday with my family and I will always remember the great, professional service we received from Ceylon Awaits Tours. We were lucky and got back to Australia just before the huge effects of the Coronavirus took hold, so when the dust settles, do yourself a favour and book a trip to Sri Lanka and be sure to contact Gihan and his team, you won't be disappointed!!

I must tell that Ceylon Awaits Tours arranged us a memorable tour for me, my husband and my two kids, The Company tailored us a best Sri Lanka Itinerary which suites our requirements and I can say this was the best Sri Lankan Family Holiday Itinerary and If you are planing a trip to Sri Lanka, Ceylon Awaits should be your selection
They understand what we want from a Small questioner which we can fill it out in less than 02 MNs and once they received it, they do the magic, they Simply come - up with a best Sri Lankan Itinerary which suites for a perfect Sri Lankan Holiday
Speaking of the chauffeurs, Our Chauffeur was Nihal who did an excellent Job during our tour, he suggested activities, food and all the thing which we really enjoyed

We had an amazing experience during our stay with Ceylon Awaits. Nihal and Dianedew were fantastic from the day we arrived to the day we departed. Every need was catered for, and they made travelling to and from excursions or tours an ease. If we had traveled utilizing public transport, we would not have seen half of the sights we had seen during our stay. I would totally recommend this service without hesitation,fantastic operation, It is a must to use theses guys if travelling to Sri Lanka. Nihal was a tremendous guide and provided superb knowledge of every sector of the country, as well, Dianedew was a fantastic driver which made our journey smooth and safe throughout.

Gihan was recommended to us via a friend and he did not disappoint. We gave him a rough idea of which areas we would like to cover and he came back with a brilliant itinerary for us. He was friendly, professional and very helpful leading up to our trip, during and even after. Our driver, Dana was lovely and helped make our trip very special. He couldn’t do enough to help and advise us and was a not only a very safe driver but a great tour guide. He remained professional throughout but was also great fun and had a brilliant sense of humour (he also made a great personal photographer... sorry Dana!)
Both helped give us an unforgettable trip, from start to finish, they went above and beyond for us and we couldn’t recommend them enough.

Gihan and his driver, Dana have been phenomenal. From the minute we arrived until our departure, they went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable and having a great experience over the 9 days. It was a truly magical trip thanks to these two amazing people... their warmth, care and professionalism is a rare combination and hard to beat. I highly recommend this service!

We booked 10 days tour with Ceylon awaits.Gihan customised the tour as per our choice n comfort.
.Wherever possible he got good discount in booking excursions. The accommodation was superb,he upgraded our rooms in some places. Gihan and driver Pradeep took great care. Both of them are very kind and helped us in shopping too. He gave a surprise party for my daughter's birthday in a village atmosphere. Overall a comfortable trip. Would recommend Ceylon awaits for a tour to Srilanka.

The 5 days became like a lifetime memory of Sri Lanka ... Gihan made an awesome itinerary for the whole 5 days ... I travelled for my birthday celebration and he gave me a surprise party at the hotel...
the drivers Prasad and Pradeep were so close and they showed us the real Lanka ...
