You are able to tour a working Fyffes banana farm that was spotlighted on HGTV and see how their daily operations work. The tour is extremely informative, well done, and definitely worth a visit. Once the tour is over, you get to enjoy fresh green banana chips that were cooked while you are there. They were SOOO good!!!

Everyone in our group loved this tour! We ranged in age from 15-82 and it was a great stop. It was hot, so I recommend sun protection, a hat, and drinking water. But the heat was worth it, so learn so many amazing things about the banana business. I don't even like bananas, but I loved this tour. Evin is a fantastic guide who clearly knows all her workers and has great respect for them. It was great for the teens in our group to see these workers and how much labor is involved in the banana process. Definitely a tour and an experience we will never forget. Highly recommend!

Glad we found this gem of a Belizean experience! We learned a lot about the banana industry. The tour was led by a family member who is originally from the US. Great hospitality and depth of knowledge from an international agricultural educator. Highly recommend! The fried banana chips at the end of the tour are delicious!

About twenty minutes from Placencia, big operation. Informative, insightful, one get a better appreciation when you buy five or six bananas...did you know a bunch of bananas is what's taken off the plant. It nice to have one of the owner's leading the tour. "Fried green bananas" to eat are a nice touch.

Okay, I know appealing is spelled wrong in my review title but I just cannot resist a good pun! Bunches of Fun Banana Farm Tours was a total highlight on our family trip to Belize. The teenagers were a little tentative about it ("What are we going to do on a banana farm?", they said, "Learn about bananas!" we said) and they ended up loving it as much as we did! We got to walk out into the fields, learn a lot about a fruit that we eat pretty much every day, watch the amazing way they grow and harvest, as well as learning all about different kinds of bananas, packing bananas - it was bananas! HA! No, seriously, it was totally worth the visit and they even gave us a delicious snack at the end! DO bring bug spray as it is in an area with MANY mosquitoes. Our tour guide was fantastic, the tour was fantastic, really...it was all around a great time! Do not miss!

My husband was a bit skeptical at first, but this tour was his favorite out of all the things we did in Belize. It's not just a tour. They set up workers along the way so you can really see how the farm works. Wonderful explanations of banana plant development along with why they do things the way that they do. We both learned a bunch! Be sure to message them to set up a tour as reservations are needed, but it really was super easy to set up. I'm so glad we saw their sign on the way to our hotel! Evin is super sweet!

It's hard to believe we found this tour of a banana farm as fascinating as we did. And we did! Six of us took the tour on the way from our sail charter base in Placencia to our jungle lodge near St. Ignacio. It was right on the way. We had gotten erroneous info that we didn't need a reservation (you definitely DO need a reservation as the staff prepares for each one as it's scheduled) but Evin Zabaneh, an American woman from Oklahoma who looks remarkably like Carrie Underwood, was able to scramble and put a tour together for us on the spot. (Thanks Evin!) Her father-in-law owns the plantation, and the tours are her bailiwick.
It takes about two hours for the tour with a little time at the end to enjoy Evin's surprise. We all thought we knew pretty much about how bananas got from the tropics to our grocery stores; it turned out we knew about 5 percent of what it takes to deliver a good banana. It was fun wandering among the banana trees, marveling at each step. You'll also see banana varieties you didn't know existed. And, when they show how the bananas are whisked out of the trees and into the sorting barn, put your phone camera on video.
There's lots of banana trivia here, and even banana jokes. The historic pictures of women carrying banana clusters on their heads to the port are classics. The whole time was just delightful. All ages would enjoy this, tho I think kids under 10 could be a little bored. I'm not absolutely positive, but as I think back on it I believe people in wheelchairs would be okay on this tour. The paths in the farm are hard-packed dirt. The email is bunchesoffuntours@gmail.com.

Hi Marge, Because Carnival docks in the Belize City, we don't recommend trying to make it to our tour. The drive one way would take around 3 hours. We do hope you'll be able to visit our farm someday when you are closer!

Is there a way cruise ship passengers can visit your farm? We will be arriving on an NCL ship at Harvest Caye.
Verfasst am 19. Oktober 2017
Hi, there should be a small boat that transports passengers from Harvest Caye to Placencia Village. If you take that boat, you can arrange for a taxi to bring you to the farm. We would love to have you. Please make advanced reservations with us.

Do you need a reservation to come for the tour if you are driving independently? How much and how long is the tour? How do you get there from Placencia? Thank you, Deb

We didn't have reservations, we just happened to see the sign and went down to check it out. The tour took 2 1/2 - 3 hrs., if memory serves us right it cost about $15.00 USD each. It is well worth the time and fee. Enjoy.

I will be arriving via cruise ship. Is there a tour that picks up cruise passengers?
Thanks, Yvette

Hi Yvette,
Is your port in Belize City or Harvest Caye with Norwegian?
If it's in Belize City, we do not recommend attempting to make it to our tour. It's just too far to make it back in time.
If you are cruising with Norwegian, we can help you make arrangements to get to the farm.

We are staying at Seaspray hotel in Placencia. How do we get to the banana farm? So we have to make reservations or can we just show up at the tour times
Verfasst am 18. September 2016
So this is super easy. You literally just take the only highway north and there will be lots of signs for it. It will be on your right and be a dirt road with a gate. Pull up to the gate and let the guards know you're there for the tour and they'll guide you in. You don't have to have reservations for the tour, but just make sure you're on time because they start on the dot.

Yes, the tour is available on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 am, 10 am and 2 pm. It's $15 USD for adults and $10 USD for children 12 and under. Kids under 5 are free.
We do require a reservation as some tour times are currently booked. Email us or call +501 624-4297 to reserve your time!
