I have visited before so knew what to expect but it's such a lovely way to spend an autumnal day! Your tickets are annual so you can visit as often as you want! The house has an additional cost to visit but it is a fascinating snapshot of Henry Moore's daily domestic life! There are often visiting exhibitions/installations too...one year there were Rodin pieces in the grounds! All staff are so approachable and enthusiastic and the sheep are obviously an added bonus! The cafe service sometimes slow but in way diminishes the visit as again staff friendly and accommodating! Never had such a huge teapot for tea for two!
Although i have only ever visited the grounds with adults it seems a great place for children too as most of the exhibits are hands on and there lots of lovely areas for the children to run about in and around the pieces

Nice drive through lovely traditional English villages. Ample parking, however, you do have to look for the overflow area. Staff very pleasant. Fee seems a bit high but it covers for the whole year so in my opinion good value. site is lovely, plenty of green areas to wander around and marvel at the work of one of our greatest artists. Not particularly wheelchair friendly but hopefully this will improve. The cafe serves excellent sandwiches and a lovely cup of chocolate.

Fascinating tour of the house with a great guide. Was second visit here and well worth going back. Sculptures are fab and it would have been good to have had more time to stop , sketch and enjoy, but weather was a bit damp. Stewards were good . Also enjoyed seeing the remarkable tapestries which were woven specially for the barn in Moores later years, by weavers from
West Dean. Will definitely go back. Cafe service was a bit slow even though it was not at all busy that day; food was good and portions generous. Sadly pub nearby has closed down.

A great way to see this famous artist’s work, set in beautiful gardens, which were landscaped by his wife. Staff are all so welcoming and knowledgeable We were on a coach trip so had a guided tour, which was fascinating.
Extra to get into the house was only £6 and worth every penny. The experience was enhanced by the fab weather.
The only issue was the slow service in the cafe, which we understood was due to staff absence and a broken dishwasher, but the system seemed a bit odd. Even if you only wanted a cup of tea, your order went into the queue so it took 20 minutes! Lots of people gave up. Shame

A very worthwhile day out, I learnt so much. I would deffinately recommend a guided tour of both gardens and house, also leave enough time to explore the gardens on your own.
A very good value, full day out. If you arrive after lunch buy a full year pass and go back as you need a full day at least to see it all.

I would recommend this as a destination for families, friends and for those individuals curious about sculpture or Moore specifically, there is much here to stimulate conversations or absorb an individual. I went there with my partner and parents and we all had a wonderful time. The curation of Moores works is done very sympathetically to his process and the grounds that showcase his large works are truly inspiring. I would emphasise above all the positivity of the various staff, from the receptionists, guides and researchers (the archives were open the day we went) to the people working in the cafe they really could not have done more to make the visit comfortable and memorable. In short you really can’t go wrong here, I can’t wait to return with my children.

Excellent visit. Enjoyed the visit to the sculpture park and the studios, where it was interesting to understand more about Moore’s creative process. The house visit was also excellent with a very knowledgeable guide. We had no issues with the restaurant!

The sculpture park is worth a visit as it is a joy to walk around the sculptures and studios. The walk around is picturesque, interspesed with large outdoor scultures that you can walk around and appreciate from different angles.
The guides were helpful but not intrusive.
The cafe/restaurant was on a total go slow.....so a MUST to avoid! Take all drinks and food unless you want an hour's wait for a coffee and snack. Better to spend the time walking round!

The sculpture park is amazing. The blend of the sculptures and natural environment is a charming, tranquil marriage.
The cafe though a tad expensive offers tasty meals with splendid views of the gardens. There is good social distancing between the tables with the option to eat al fresco.
There are studios to interest and escape any rain.
A word of warning about viewing the house. Eight people are allowed at a time with a little over a square metre space throughout the tour. Visitors are required to wear overshoes to protect the carpet. One visitor mistakenly stood outside to allow others enough space to put on overshoes. A clear indicator of too many for the space.
All visitors are required to be in the same room at all times due to there being items of high value on display. It is only ventilated by electric fans with no open windows.
Too many people in a low ceilinged, limited, poorly ventilated space did not allow for any social distancing. If you suffer from claustrophobia be aware. I don't usually but felt very claustrophobic here.

Visited house, garden and studios. Great to be back there again. Very good knowledgeable guide to show us the house. studio guides very friendly and knowledgeable too. Great cafe.

There is a really lovely cafe. It does a great cup of tea and cake or a lovely lunch. We had jacket potatoes with veg chilli and it was yummy x

As above but please note that the house Henry Moore lived in is now closed until next season. If you go, be sure to call in the Hoops Inn for lunch! Enjoy!
