We had accommodation in the northern area of the Island and had rented a car. We spent 2 days traveling through the Park with several opportunities to discover the grandeur of the landscapes and the beauty of the flora. A pure marvel.
Favorite for Cara Cara and the bromeliad route. The orchid sector was unfortunately closed.
The small museum at the entrance is interesting.
The welcome from the staff is not warm as you would expect from a tourist place, but the mountain is full of breathtaking landscapes!

This park requires an early visit whether you plan to climb the mountain or not.
Any visit after 9am and you will not see any wildlife.
The park is easily accessible by public bus, one hour ride from Otrobanda.
Interestingly, the park is well staffed with several park rangers, but almost all seem UNWILLING to assist paying visitors to the park unless you have requested a guide (days prior).
Trails can be easily navigated without the need for a guide once visitors are informed about the starting point and the presence of markers along the trail.
We were NOT given any such information when we first interacted with the rangers. We were however given a map which is completely useless without the necessary explanation.
Thankfully, we found ONE helpful park ranger out of the several that work there.
The trail itself is average except for the views of Boca Grande.
After walking the trail, we were RUDELY rushed out of the museum more than 30 minutes before the scheduled and advertised closing time.
Those involved in managing the tourism sector nationally in Curacao need to urgently offer training to the staff at the Cristoffel National Park to equip them with the skills needed to properly interact with tourists with kindness and respect.
Your money may be better spent at another park or elsewhere.

My review is mostly about the Christoffel mountain.
TLDR: Go early, pack lightly, amazing views, but really crowded.
WHEN TO VISIT:
What a climb! It's not an easy hike but it's doable and worth it. Make sure to start early - it gets really hot and the hike is tiring even without the heat. When we visited the park opened at 6 AM and you could only visit the mountain until 10 AM. We started before 7 AM and when going up we walked mostly in the shade. When we got down it was quite hot, sun was shining but some people were just starting their climb. If I were to do it again, I would go earlier.
TRAIL:
Make sure to use comfortable shoes (but no special hiking boots are needed) and bring some water, but overall I suggest to pack lightly. Some parts require a bit of climbing on the rocks (but nothing too serious!). It took about 45min to 1 hour one way and same time coming down. The trail is narrow and gets quite crowded.
THE TOP:
The views are truly amazing!! But bear in mind that the top of the mountain is quite small and very, very crowded. So don't expect a quiet peaceful atmosphere when reaching the top. Since the visiting hours are quite limited there are lots of people on a small area, everyone wants to pose for a photo, take a selfie or a video, some people are quite rude unfortunately and inconsiderate etc.
REST OF THE PARK:
Afterwards we visited a few more places in the park and later the museum as well, but to be honest those places where nothing compared to the mountain.

To start at the beginning Cristoffel National Park is not in Willemstad but 20k northwest. You need a car. The park is in two parts divided by the main road to Westpunt.
The park opens early, around 7.00am and if you intend to hike an early start is recommended. It does not stay open late and hikes up the mountain must begin before 11.00am and preferably before 10.00am to be sure of avoiding prohibition of access.
When you pay your entrance fee, currently $15 you are given a map.
The northern segment has a driving route, and there are a small selection of signed hiking trails. The longest, the red trail, is a circular trail and meanders through light forest to the coast and an attractive bay known as Boka Grandi. The hike there took us 1 hour out and 30 minutes return. It is very peaceful, almost silent apart from occasional birdsong. You visit a high point with excellent views of Christoffel mountain and the coast. We saw many lizards, brightly coloured birds, and a small deer.
You can visit the old plantation house known as Savonet which contains a simple museum.
On the Southern side of the road you can take the popular hike up the Christoffel mountain. Most people shorten the route by driving to the trailhead but there is a well signed path from the park centre which limbers you up for the steep mountain climb. It is steep ascent by any standard and takes more than two hours from the park entrance and back. It is a justly popular hike and affords excellent views after you scramble to the peak. It is a scramble and slightly vertiginous.
It would be possible to cover the whole park in a single day but very demanding. To enjoy simple hiking it is possible to spread your visit over three days. Regretably there does not seem to be a season or weekly ticket, you have to purchase tickets for access for every day you visit.

We went three times to the park: day 1 - blue route, day 2 - birds watching (and museum) and day 3 - sunset trip. All of those are to advise. Super friendly workers, everyone tried to find the most optimal solution for us. Well, it’s better to contact the park in advance, if you would like to book a tour (check their website, facebook, but also send a message - information is pretty different everywhere).
About museum: seems it should be open every day. Rather it was closed on our first day there and afterwards we understood - you have to ask at information desk and then they could open the door(there is no worker inside, you walk in the museum by yourself - very informative!!)
Think about water - you can refill your bottle in park, but if you think to walk longer, then better take big bottle with you, mega hot on some points.
We had Briand Victorina as guide - and enjoyed our tours fully. Especially the Sunset tour - so different nature and impressive view. Thank you !
(We couldn’t find the name of “wild bananas” - what’s official name of this plant?)

We got a great driving map and did both hour long loops. Our two year old walked the short hikes with minimal difficulty. Restaurant at the main area was great too.
