We had a very good time even though it was extremely cold weather there were sufficient activities to entertain the 4 and 5 year old grandchildren . We particularly liked the “bird man “ who gave us lots of info about the care of the birds presented in a way that interested the adults and the children . All the staff were friendly and cheerful

We visited for Father Christmas at the farm and had a super afternoon today. All the children enjoyed themselves and would’ve stayed a lot longer than 4hrs (aged 5 up to 13).
The farm is always well maintained and new things added each time we visit (and we’ve been visiting for 6 years).
The playground has lots on offer and in a relaxed quiet setting. The animals are varied and plenty to pat and feed.
Father Christmas was in a pretty barn setting full of twinkly trees and the children all liked it, and their cuddly presents were lovely.
The soft play is a welcome bit of warmth indoors and better now it has been opened up more.
We’ll be back again no doubt in the Spring, always a fab day out and place to meet friends.
The farm is always well maintained and new things added each time we visit (and we’ve been visiting for 6 years).

We went to the farm this week for the Halloween theme. It was amazing and all the staff were brilliant and made the day so fantastic for the child I took. We have a membership for the farm and we use it through the summer and winter as always so much to do for the children. Well worth a visit.

We enjoyed a lovely first visit to Hogshaw Farm last Friday. We were surprised that it was so quiet as it was a bright and beautiful Autumn day - the advantage though was that we had the animals' undivided attention for feeding!
Admission is a little steep (£45 for two adults and a two year old, plus animal feed) but I don't begrudge it too much as the animals look well cared for.
At first glance, it's a small site but it stretches further back than you initially assume, with wildlife (including lynx) located at the far side. It's easy to spend the best part of the day, taking account of seeing/feeding the animals, the goat walking route, room of smaller animals (tatantulas, snake, mice etc), soft play, playground and a bite of lunch in the barn cafe. Highlights for us were feeding the goats and the walking route through the fields of sheep. Food in the cafe was good, with sausages, burgers and chips and a lunchbox option for children.
The staff we met were friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. The gift shop is well stocked with lovely toys too.
My only criticism is the lack of soap and paper towels at the hand washing stations - consistent at most we visited throughout the farm. This was disappointing to see and is an easy fix.
A little lacking in atmosphere too but that's because it was so quiet when we were there.

Came here for a ‘back to school’ treat for my 5yo.
Cost £15 to get in for 2x adults. 1x child and 1 baby! Bags of animal food are an extra £1
The farm is lovely and clean with so much to do. They have sand pits, water play, big inflatable jumping pods, a soft play/ cafe and parks, And obviously farm animals which you are able to feed. There is also a small reptile house which has a good verity!
We ordered food from the cafe and it was delicious. The sausage that my son had looked and tasted like one you would get from an expensive farm shop! It cost £23 for one child’s meal, one adults meal and a coffee which I found really good as places like this usually cost an arm and a leg. You are also able to bring in your own food.
There was lots of seating around the parks and sand pit which was lovely to be able to sit and watch my son play.
They offer a bird show which is free but you need to pre book (we didn’t go to it) but it looked really good- my son just isn’t keen on birds.
There is a gift shop situated as you leave, the stuff did seem quite expensive and it’s a pain because you have to walk through it to get out but I’m sure there’s stuff in there not too expensive!
I highly recommend visiting Hogshaw farm! It’s such a fun and cheap day out!

I would have chosen good if this option were available. It was a good day but not value for money. It was about £45 for 2 adults and 1 child. The meals were about £10 too. The opportunity to stroke the piglets and the goat about were the highlights. My 3 year old really liked meeting the Gruffalo but that was a 1 day thing.

We strive to keep our ticket prices competitive with similar family attractions in the area. The farm admission price includes access to over 250 animals across 44 acres. Ranging from European and native wildlife, rare breed livestock, invertebrates, reptiles as well as our popular flying bird display and lots of indoor and outdoor play. In addition, this summer season, we have a wide range of extra activities, such as tractor and trailer rides, our splash pool and hay bale play. As well as jam packed animal encounter schedule, and special events like the Gruffalo.

This review is to specifically thank the team member who spent ages showing our grandchildren around the walled garden. We’ve been to the farm before and loved it but first time we’ve been in the garden. The dedication and passion shown was delightful and the boys absolutely loved every minute. The variety of plants was also very interesting too. Thank you for making our day special

It’s definitely better for young children. Some of the health and safety concerns such as sharp wires on some gates, nearly all of the hand sanitizers being empty and no towels where you was your hands need to be urgently addressed. There aren’t particularly a lot of animals for kids to see and the soft play is a bit basic. The food in the cafe is ok.

Our team perform regular checks throughout the day on all facilities, including hand sanitisers and handwash stations. We apologise for any inconvenience you experienced with empty hand sanitisers and the empty paper towel dispensers. We will use your feedback to review our monitoring processes to ensure these are consistently stocked and available for use.
Regarding the sharp wires on some gates, we take such safety concerns very seriously and conduct daily maintenance checks on all gates and paddocks to ensure guest safety and our animals remain in their enclosures and paddocks. Upon receiving your review we have had members of the team check all gates and we have not found any sharp wires, please email us directly at info@hogshawfarm.co.uk to inform us where you found the sharp wires so that we can ensure it hasn’t been missed and we can rectify the issue.
We strive to provide a diverse and engaging experience with our collection of over 250 animals. We regret that this did not meet your expectations. We are continuously working to enhance our exhibits and encounters to ensure an enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.

We had such a wonderful visit. My daughter got to see lots of beautiful animals and even groom a donkey. The staff were wonderful. Highly recommended.

I had never heard of this place before despite only living 30 minutes away. Took a chance and am glad we did.
Tickets were very reasonable anyway, but with the extra June promotion it was a great deal.
I'll admit on first arrival I was worried that it appeared small and we might only be there an hour, but I was very wrong and we spent about 5 hours there.
We had a great time feeding all the animals and walking around the fields and nature paths.
After a stop off at the bouncy pillows, we headed to the wildlife area, it's not massive and perhaps the name wildlife park conjures up a more zoo like image, but we actually got to see a lot of animals and up close.
We headed to the farm kitchen for lunch where there is also a small soft play area (yes it gets noisy in there, but all the food served can be taken outside too and there is plenty of picnic tables about and some sheltered too). Food was priced around the same as you find in a pub, but we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality, burgers were delicious. You can take packed lunches, picnics in etc too if you wish.
We headed to the play park after lunch (then back to the bouncy pillows) and then we saw the bird talk, which was very informative and you got a real good look at the birds, it's not a display show like you may be used to at zoos, safari parks etc, very much more they let the animals take the lead and don't do performance etc. That being said the birds loved flying around the talk area so you definitely still get a good view!
After this we tried out the go karts and the last few animal talks, finally we said goodbye to our favourite animals (love you Tony !) and headed home.
All the staff we encountered were pleasant, knowledgeable and happy to help.
All in all a great day out, we will certainly be coming back.

Yes it is. There are paths but might be more difficult in play area grass but there is a pathway through.
