Unsere Aurora-Jagd wird für kleine Gruppen organisiert, um die Servicequalität für unsere Gäste sicherzustellen. Alle unsere Guides sind professionelle „Aurora-Jäger“ und können alle Ihre Fragen zu Polarlichtern, Finnland und der Kultur beantworten. Die Jagd wird vom Reiseleiter immer individuell an das Wetter und die Aurora-Vorhersage angepasst, beinhaltet jedoch immer den Transport, einen englischsprachigen Reiseführer, warme Getränke und einige Snacks.

After reading all the positive reviews, I took a chance and made all of my Saariselkä bookings with Arctic Timetravels - snowsuit and boot hire, 3 hour aurora hunt and husky sledding - for our family of two adults and two children aged 11 and 8.
We were due to be collected from our hotel and taken to the storage unit to collect our warm clothing but on arrival at Ivalo, there was no bus for several hours and not enough taxis available so I contacted Victor and he was able to arrange for Zen to collect us from the airport. We had to pay a premium for this of course but it was very efficient and at least we weren’t stranded with no idea when we’d manage to leave the airport!
We had booked a 3 hour aurora hunt for the same evening but there was a lot of cloud cover so we were given the option of a full refund, upgrading to the 6 hour aurora hunt or postponing until the third and final night of our trip. We chose the latter option and fortunately it paid off! The flexibility offered is great as you feel the company genuinely wants you to see the lights rather than just taking you out when there’s no chance and pocketing your money. I also loved the fact that they change their destination each night according to aurora activity and visibility rather than having a set destination.
Centti was a great guide and full of fascinating information. We were in a small heated van with four others and saw a faint aurora whilst standing on a frozen lake. We were there for the aurora but the stars stole the show - they were by far the most incredible we’d ever seen! We were very lucky that later on that night, we pulled over by the side of a road and saw a more intense dancing aurora which was amazing. This is an ideal aurora trip for children as they can spend as much time in or out of the warm van as they want to. Our children got cold quickly but Centti happily sat with them in the van and gave them hot berry drinks and gingerbread biscuits while the adults enjoyed the experience. Centti also got out of the van at one of the stops to check the aurora situation so that we didn’t have to unless there was something worth seeing. Despite warm clothing and snowsuits, I can’t imagine being on an aurora hunt that involves spending hours waiting outside in -25 degree temperatures! There was also no rush whatsoever. Centti went beyond the 3 hour trip that we booked which was very much appreciated.
Our husky sledding experience with Angela was excellent too. We had done one a year earlier at Bearhill in Rovaniemi and this one was just as good. Another husky company that really cares about its dogs. Angela was another great guide and went above and beyond even lending her gloves to another guest! My children and I chose to borrow a second snowsuit each for the husky sledding at -25 degrees which was necessary for us! After the fun ride, it was great to warm up in a tent with hot drinks and hear more about the huskies before going back out to stroke them and take photos.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Arctic Timetravels. The guides were really friendly and knowledgeable and were always punctual and made everything we did totally stress-free. Being able to communicate by What’s App when in country was very convenient. Thank you!

Our trip was brilliant . We absolutely loved it. Our guide Angela was more than excellent.We were picked up from our hotel in a comfortable and warm van and proceeded north in search of the northern lights. Angela was so friendly, very knowledgeable and ensured we had an amazing 3 hours taking us all around using her knowledge of the area. We were able to see some unbelievable stuff. Would recommend if you haven’t been so lucky to see the northern lights from your hotel. One tip would be to make sure you are very warmly dressed as you do spend time outside taking picture …

Obviously there is no guarantee that you see the Aurora, but a really fun experience. We were lucky enough to get some very good views.
Our guide, Ali was brilliant and the company who runs this are also very good. They offered great flexibility to increase the chances of seeing the lights and changed their schedule to maximise our chances. Giving up time on Christmas Day evening goes above and beyond!

We did 3 tours with this company (aurora hunting, ice skating and husky safari) and all 3 were amazing. The guide was great and the overall experience as well, from pick-up to doing the tour and drop-off. Highly recommend this company if you are traveling to Saariselkä.

Our experience was absolutely incredible thanks to our outstanding guide Max from Arctic Timetravels. Despite there being only about a 1% chance of seeing the Northern Lights that night, Max's expertise and determination paid off. He knew exactly where to take us and was patient for the perfect spot.
When the aurora finally appeared, it was breathtaking! The views were spectacular, and Max helped everyone capture amazing photos.
His knowledge and enthusiasm made this tour unforgettable, even in such challenging conditions. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone hoping to see the Northern Lights - with Max as your guide, you're in the best possible hands!

Max really drove us to different spots to hunt for the auro even at the temperature of -28.5C! Yes! Yes, We were so excited to see this amazing aurora! Our fingers were almost frozen 🥶 at this extreme temperature but we will remember this dancing aurora forever! Thank you Max

We did two excursions for 14 people with them, Auroras and Huaskies. We hired their services months before from Spain and they always responded to the emails.When the day came to pick us up there was Nico, an Italian who speaks quite Spanish. What a great guide Nico is, he helped us in any way possible and both excursions went according to plan. Both children and parents had a great time on the huaskies excursion and made us beautiful photos on the Auroras excursion. A 100% recommended company.

We had an incredible experience chasing the northern lights with our friendly and super knowledgeable guide, Nico. Nico was constantly checking the forecast and cloud coverage and was able to locate the northern lights in all of their splendid glory at two separate locations. Highly recommend this tour and Nico!

With nature’s cooperation and Ivan’s excellent guiding knowledge we had a once in a lifetime experience! Ivan took us to excellent viewing locations and really knew how to use the Aurora app to find the optimal viewing windows. He also knew how to balance between outdoor time in the extreme Arctic cold and time warming up in the van with hot tea. He also took great photos of our experience. All in all a great way to close our trip to Lapland!!

This is a late post for a 6-hour Aurora Hunt on March 23, 2024. Wow! What an amazing experience with Ivan on the Aurora Hunt. Ivan went above and beyond during our excursion, taking us to many, many different vantage points near Ivalo and Inari. We witnessed the Northern Lights both from a distance, covering the entire sky, to standing directly underneath them. We watched the show from frozen lakes, frozen rivers, and scenic overlooks. We saw so many different colors, including purple, pink, green, and a flicker of red. Thank you Ivan and thank you Arctic Timetravels for a memorable experience.
