My adult daughter accompanied me for this week long stay on the east, rainy side of the Big Island.
Staff stayed and welcomed us cheerfully despite our late arrival, The room was small but clean and cozy. The hot tub/ Jacuzzi/ sauna was very nice and very available. You just signed up to reserve a time. Shared facilities were clean. Unfortunately, hot water was lacking on the last two days, apparently due to a solar heating failure.This is the only reason I did not rate as excellent.
Vegetarian food was creative and good. We very much enjoyed the communal dining experience which gave the opportunity for casual conversations with the chef DK, as well as other guests and interns. DK gave excellent suggestions for site seeing and even offered to call around to find us horsebackriding options. He suggested a terrific night market with local food and entertainment, just a few minutes away. On site yoga classes were 2nd to none. DK provided a place in the kitchen for ... mehr
