Me and three friends (from England) stayed here for three nights after we have attended Carnival in Salvador. The place was perfect for what we needed, it is located in a quiet village of Gamboa, which was a 10 minute boat taxi (3 or 4 Reals) away from the busy and touristy main part of the island. You can even walk along a quiet beach to get to the main town, however Gamboa had all we needed in terms of mini market, a few beach bars and quiet beaches.
The pousada is run by a nice family, a Spanish lady and her local husband from Bahia. They are really pleasant and helpfully, even meeting us off the catamaran which we got from Salvador to take us to the pousada.
The place is clean and has a nice garden area as well as a patio with chairs and a table!
We stayed in a dorm room which had an en-suite bathroom. You can tell the place is relatively new as all of the furniture was new with freshly painted walls etc.
