These cottages are wonderful: Clean, comfortable, and completely updated. We actually stayed at Eagles' Nest, the cottage on the dune just behind (and above) Redbird, though through a stroke of good fortune, we had access to Redbird for a couple days.
The cottages are situated in what was once "The Actor's Colony," the summer home to Vaudeville acts of the 20s. Most notable among them was Buster Keaton; Keaton's sister once owned Redbird! Situated on Wilcox Ave., one may watch the sun come up over Muskegon Harbor at the end of the street, and watch it go down on Pere Marquette Beach - almost on the other! Behind our cottage was the remnants of "Pigeon Hill," and each morning we saw white-tailed deer just waking from their beds.
Each cottage has modern, updated furnishings... decorated as cozy beach bungalows. They are squeaky clean, with every comfort imaginable. The owner has thought of everything; all we needed were the groceries! mehr
