I loved my stay at Casa Juana. The owner, an ex-pat American, and his staff of locals were very welcoming. There is an all-night "guardian" who stays on the property. The property was in excellent condition, beautifully landscaped. There is an herb garden to one side that is quite large. The sleeping accommodations were good, the bathrooms very nice, and the beds were comfortable. It is very clean and there is a daily housekeeper. There is an amazing view from the property across Lake Atitlan, which has two dormant volcanos on the far side, which makes it quite scenic. Take a boat across the lake to a Santiago Atitlan, a more indiginous town than Panajachel (which is more cosmopolitan), which is fascinating - not to be missed is "Maximon", the patron saint of Mayan sorcerers. From Casa Juana, it's a short trip into the main part of Panajchel - short enough to walk, ride a bike or hail a tuktuk for easy taxi-like transport. In short - I hope to return! mehr
Das Haus thront auf einem Hügel bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf den See und die Stadt unten.
