This property is somewhat off the beaten path, but well worth it. The home is of traditional Jamaican construction...quite large, very clean and well taken care of. Much better than the generic hotel suites or faux-tropical of the resort areas.The breeze off the ocean made it very comfortable, and the beach was only a minute away on foot. The beach itself is beautiful, well over a mile long and half the time I had it all to myself...with perhaps 20 people at most at any one time. The surf on the east coast in winter(as a Canadian, I use this term tongue-in-cheek) makes snorkeling difficult, except in nearby sheltered bays, but made splashing about and riding the waves with boogie-board and flippers a riot!
The east coast also has the highest rainfall, so this area is extremely lush...with edible fruit proliferating everywhere. It also offers awesome gorges, rivers and waterfalls, all just a short drive away. There was plenty to see, and I was never more than an hour away from my ... mehr
