We visited Maratea in off-season, which has pluses and minus. The upside, is it's almost deserted. The downside, is that it's almost deserted (if you arrive on a Sunday, be sure to have brought food because nothing is open).
This appartment is as described (there was no working wifi, however) but the owner was very helpful and it's a short walk to the port and sea area - and an enjoyable, if taxing, uphill walk (30-45 mins) to the main village. It is, however, further to the main beaches.
We came by train - it was an adequate but a car would probably be recommended to get around. Overall, a solid vacation spot. mehr
