From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, with home-made shortbread and tea waiting for us, local soaps and moisturisers in the bathroom and a fire already laid. The view out of all of the windows is stunning, being able to see the loch and weather ever-changing in both directions. The cottage is set in the beautifully landscaped and maintained private grounds of the Loch Ness Lodge, a 5 star B&B. The children loved playing on the lawns outside or strolling through the meadow, along the burn and down to the loch-side, all within the grounds.
The cottage may be decorated in a slightly old fashioned way, but it is cosy, clean and is equipped with everything you need and more! Wonderful to light the fire in the evening and watch the moon rise over the the mountains opposite and reflect in the water of the loch.
Two minor drawbacks, hence only the 4 stars; firstly, no sofa to curl up in, only armchairs - not the end of the world. Secondly, the cottage's ...
