The area - Escandon was entirely new to me, and I liked it - feels exactly like what might imagine as a normal, typical DF residential neighborhood. The location was great, very close to two metro stations, the Condesa nightlife, Roma Sur and other interesting areas. The place felt safe and I never was nervous, even walking back late at night (although it is a quiet residential neighborhood, not very lit up and lively). I was only there for five nights and didn't really check out the restaurants, cantinas, street food stalls, etc., and wish I'd had more time for that.
The apartment - A bit smaller than I was anticipating, but plenty large for one person or a couple. The spiral staircase is pretty tight and steep, so you have to be ready to deal with that. The skylights and peephole windows in the upstairs bedroom aren't shaded or curtained, so it does get pretty light in the morning. And it's under the Benito Juarez flightpath, so there's that. But none of that bothered me ... mehr
