We chose this property because we wanted a dog friendly house with tv and a pool for the kids and wifi for myself, my husband and teenage daughter to be able to keep up with work email and studying for exams. There were 5 of us.
The house is truly beautiful from outside and set in large grounds. However, the grounds and woods are so overgrown as to make walking hard and the pool is a small, above ground one set on the gravel drive to the side of the house. There is a thicket of large trees that hide the remnants of what used to be a spring; now filled in with dirt and garbage. Not quite what we expected.
The interior of the house is a real combination of beautiful 19th century detailing and university digs type furniture. Imagine huge rooms with parquet floors and lovely moulding with torn furniture, formica coffee tables and old fake leather sofas with arms that fell off. The tv was not working (seemed the cable account had not been paid) and there was absolutely no wifi at ...
