I chose this apartment because of its proximity to the Cape Verde Atmospheric Observatory, near Calhau, where I was working for 4 weeks, and stayed with 2 colleagues.
We drove in a 4x4 hire car from the airport, and we able to park on the track right outside. It is not far from the main road into Calhau, the track to the apartment being a dusty track (like most of the roads in that area) but other people were driving along it in normal cars so a 4x4 isn't necessary. We were met by the rep who was friendly and helpful. She speaks English, and can tell you where to get food, go shopping, go swimming, etc, but she's not around all day.
There is a reception building where breakfasts are available in the mornings - the choice seemed to be eggs freshly cooked in one of 6 or 7 ways.
Our apartment was the 3 bedroom 'penthouse' on the top floor of the building, up a flight of tiled steps (slippery when the wind blows sea spray onto the apartment). It was very clean ...
