On arriving in the early evening to be greeted by a set of dilapidated that struggled to open was not a good sign. The farm manager showed me the very basics of the property and left for the night, leaving me to try and work out why the cooker didn't function, only one air conditioner worked, and the TV had only two cartoon channels.
in the morning, as the kettle did not work and there was no coffee machine, i drove to Agadir and bought a new kettle, coffee machine, and an electric heater. This last item was most essential as none of the windows fitted properly and the gaps in the patio doors one could drive a bus through, making the house very draughty - the nights in Morocco in December can get quite cold.
Next evening around 8.30pm there was a power cut. I assumed, wrongly, that this was due to the recent storms. However, the washing machine saga confirmed my suspicions.
