Total finster, schlecht beleuchtet und billig gemacht, tausend Stufen, Lifte die ins Nirvana führten aber nicht zu meinem Zimmer. Dort gab es gar keinen Lift. Hatte genau 210 Stufen zu laufen. Nummer 4103. Wände aus Pappe dass ich 5 Nächte kein Auge zugemacht habe. Zu Anfang wurde ich ins falsche Zimmer gefrachtet, hatte Meerblick gebucht, nach Reklamation würde behauptet es gibt kein Meerblick...Frechheit. Bekam dann aber mein Zummer mit Meerblick. Personal zum größten Teil inkompetent aber bemüht freundlich zu sein. Frühstück schwach auch dort fehlte immer etwas, entweder der Naturjoghurt( gab auch kein Nachschub) oder der Koch fehlte für Pancakes, das Gemüse verkocht, Brot zum Teil nicht frisch. Patisserie auch teils vom Vortag. Ist absolut verbesserungswürdig, Smoothies werden vor meinen Augen mit teils angegammeltem Gemüse in den Mixer gerührt. Der Manager zeigt sich kurz und verschwindet wieder. Beim Auschecken ein Evian auf der Rechnung, dieses wurde nicht als welcomedrink anerkannt, Bier wäre möglich gewesen. Wie dumm ist dass denn? Die Putzfrau ist fauler als faul, 1. Tag Spiegel nicht geputzt, 2. Tag immer noch nicht. Irgend wann Kaffemaschine und Tisch nicht gereinigt ( siehe Foto) Bettwäsche gruselig dreckig , am letztenTag wurde das Kaffepulver nicht aufgefüllt, Wasser wurde auch vergessen. Ich war noch nie so enttäuscht von einem Hotel wie dort und ich bin viel unterwegs. Vorwiegend in 5 Sterne Häusern. Dieses Hotel kann ich def. nicht weiterempfehlen.

I read your review with a degree of disappointment that you chose to title your review “Ghastly” and must apologize that you had such an apparently dreadful stay at U Sunsuri.
The entire U team endeavor to give our guests a holiday to remember and any feedback that we receive in a negative vein is acted on to maintain the high standards that allow us to achieve our high rating on Trip Advisor.
I would like to take this opportunity to address your comments but firstly must admit to being completely confused as to why, during your time with us, none of the issues you wrote about were ever mentioned to any member of staff or myself. If you were that dissatisfied I cannot comprehend why you did not complain at the time and instead chose to write about problems on Trip Advisor that, had they been raised at the time, would have been handled immediately by myself to ensure your satisfaction.
As other reviews have noted one thing we are dedicated to is attending to any guest problems as they occur as is only right and proper of any decent hotel.
I regret that your sleep was disturbed but, as I mentioned previously, it would only have taken a word with our Front Office team to arrange an alternative room for you. I am also sorry that the number of steps we feature was an issue but our media and this very website clearly mentions we are on a hillside which is why we provide buggies to transport our guests around.
A point I would like to clarify is, rather than your notion that U Sunsuri is “cheaply made” and the rooms constructed of “cardboard” all U properties have multi-million baht investment in their construction using only the best materials to meet U’s exacting brand standards or else they quite simply would not be allowed to operate under the U banner.
I regret that the initial room you occupied did not feature a sea view. Your travel agent requested a sea view but I feel sure you understand that these are subject to availability (as in all hotels) and I am sorry that one was not available when you checked in. Rather than being “impudent” my staff were merely trying to explain that a sea view was not available at that time and I am glad that eventually they managed to fulfill your request.
Your comments regarding the breakfast have been well noted and passed on to my Executive Chef for his immediate attention but a further point I would like to politely correct you on is we absolutely never put out stale bread or day-old pastries and all our bakery items are freshly baked daily. Once again this is part of the U brand standard.
I am sorry that you felt I “showed up briefly then disappeared” as I am a fully hands-on manager who is available to attend to any guest needs at all times, as it has been documented previously on Trip Advisor. At the risk of repeating myself if you had mentioned to me when you spotted me about the problems you faced I would have rectified them there and then. In the end the well-being of each and every customers is our number 1 priority.
In lieu of any further information as to why the staff were “incompetent” I am at a loss as to how I can solve the alleged problem with them.
I must apologize for the staff’s error over the Evian water as it is indeed available as a welcome drink and I have spoken to them about this matter.
I regret that you considered the Housekeeping staff to be “lazier than lazy” and, despite them receiving many accolades from our guest over the service they provide, have spoken to their manager regarding the issues you raised.
However I must politely refute your claim that the linen was “creepy dirty” as we have never received a comment of this nature before and no other guest who was in residence during your time at U Sunsuri made any observations along the same lines as you.
I am sorry if this reply comes across as slightly defensive but as our other reviews show the vast majority of our guests thoroughly enjoy their time with us and any issues are dealt with on-site to the best of our ability to make sure our guests are happy. I feel sure that most of them would give the hotel the opportunity to rectify any problems while in residence rather than writing a negative review after leaving without giving the hotel the fair chance to make amends at the time you were actually at U Sunsuri.
Of course had you complained at the time and we were unwilling or unable to attend to the situation then your review would be fairer but as we were completely unaware of your disappointment then I cannot fathom why you considered us “ghastly”.
May I end by saying that despite your disappointment I hope that should you visit Phuket again you find accommodation that meets your own personal standards.
In the meantime both myself and the entire U Sunsuri team will do our level best to ensure that our future guests enjoy the superlative experience for which we are being praised.
