We will be in NY Dec 22-28, and want to know if its really practical to go on walking tours at that time of year. We will be Harlem based, but will try and see as much as we can of Manhattan etc on our first visit to NY.
Haha December is our busiest month of the year! Everyone is here to go shopping and see the decorations for Christmas and the holidays. We've been lucky as well that the past two Decembers have been pretty mild here. The last two Christmas Eve's were 17 and 24 C outside!
I can't promise it will be that warm again, but we've done tours in blizzards before. Between the food stops on tour and a couple of pub stops to warm us up we make it work.
How long are you in town for? If it's your first time I would recommend some of our Combo Tours. My recommendation would be the High Line/Greenwich Village/Historic Downtown to start. This tour covers 4 neighborhoods, 300 years of history back to where the whole city and nation started, and Greenwich Village is also a food tour so you'll trying some of the best hidden spots in the neighborhood. Now these are real food tours, not sampling tours. There is A LOT of food so make sure to come hungry.
You can check out the full selection of tours on the website through our TripAdvisor page.
Also, feel free to reach out about any other restaurant, bar, or what to do tips for your trip. You have a new friend in NYC now! Our email is listed on the website and my phone number is 646 545 8494. Sorry I cannot post links through this message board!
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Alex
