The Garst Museum was such a cool experience. I am a disabled Veteran and had my service dog with me, and the woman at the front was so sweet about allowing us to tour this beautiful place. She was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions, I can’t say enough good things about the museum. The displays, artwork, pictures, old uniforms and memorabilia is so interesting, I could go back to this place a hundred times and enjoy it just as much as the first time we visited. What an awesome place for a “family day” or just a solo walk through like I did, you’re gonna love the Garst Museum!!

This museum is just as good as any big city venue and very large. Many different topics here all related to this area, Darke County. Exhibits on War of 1812, Greenville Treaty, Military Uniforms, Lowell Thomas , Annie Oakley and much more. Lowell Thomas and Annie Oakley are both native to Darke County. They are proud of this museum and well they should be. If in the area don't miss this wonderful museum!

The museum has a small parking lot. It is cheap to get in and you could spend hours there if you wanted to. So much space with tons of artifacts. I was limited on time, so focused my visit in the Annie Oakley area. There is so much to see.

Needing a day trip, we drove up from Dayton. While Annie Oakley was our primary interest, we enjoyed learning all about Darke County history, Lowell Thomas, and a host of other offerings, including military uniforms from 1812 to the present. Carol and the other staff were very inviting, pleasant, and welcoming.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed a day trip to this hidden gem! The museum was fascinating with antique exhibits that included a stagecoach and vintage race car, along with a Main Street full of businesses. Plus the Annie Oakley exhibit was amazing! There is also an extensive military collection. The museum staff was so friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful afternoon!

The museum carries on, with modified protocols yet still open!

Their sales and silent auctions this year I hope keep them going, but this always pays dividends to our children and visitors (tourists).

Annie Oakley interests me and this is the place to go to find out all about her. Lots of pictures and memorabilia. There are also many other things of interest. If you like history you will love this place.

This museum simply is spectacular! I've now been 5-6 times throughout the years and it's always a great visit! Took my Mom & Sis for an outing there - all but one upstairs room is handicap accessible, and they have pics of the room to view downstairs. Give yourself about 1.5-2 hours, and go have fun!

The Garst Museum in Greenville, Ohio features several unique exhibits. The museum has exhibits on famed entertainer Annie Oakley, noted author/broadcaster/adventurer Lowell Thomas & the Treaty of Greenville (signed in the 18th century). It also has many local items of historical significance. There is quite a bit of history jammed into this small building!
